I'm excited to share that bodywork is back at Three Treasures Wellness!

Alongside acupuncture, I'm once again offering hands-on, needle-free bodywork like cupping, gua sha, tui na, and Zero Balancing. Each one takes a different path toward easing tension, supporting movement, and helping you feel more settled in your own body.

No two people are the same, and I never assume one approach suits everyone. Because of this, our first visit is really a conversation about how you've been feeling and what you're hoping for, then we'll figure out the right approach together.

You can read more about each of these and book time with me at threetreasureswellness.com.

One of the approaches I use in my practice is called Five Element Acupuncture.

While many people think of acupuncture as focusing only on physical concerns, Five Element Acupuncture takes a broader view. It considers the relationship between physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual well-being.

The system is built around five elements:
🌱Wood
🌱Fire
🌱Earth
🌱Metal
🌱Water
Each element represents patterns found throughout nature and within ourselves. Together, they provide a framework for understanding balance, resilience, personality, and overall wellness.

Rather than focusing solely on symptoms, Five Element Acupuncture asks deeper questions about who you are, how you experience the world, and where imbalance may be showing up in your life.

It's one of the reasons I love this work. Every person is unique, and every treatment is designed with that individuality in mind.

Migraines are often about much more than headaches.

For many people, migraines can affect work, relationships, sleep, daily routines, and overall quality of life. They can be complex, deeply personal experiences that look different from one individual to the next.

When someone comes to see me for recurring migraines, I want to understand the bigger picture.

We may discuss things like sleep patterns, stress levels, daily habits, emotional well-being, life transitions, and overall health history… not because migraines are simple, but because they often exist within a larger context.

My role is not to reduce your experience to a symptom checklist. It's about listening, asking questions, and gaining a deeper understanding of what your unique experience looks like.

If recurring migraines have you wondering whether a more holistic conversation about your wellness could be helpful, I invite you to schedule a consultation.

Life is busy. Between work, school, caregiving responsibilities, family commitments, and everything else competing for your attention, it can be difficult to make time for your own well-being.

That's one reason I offer both evening and Saturday appointments. Wellness care should fit into real life, not require you to rearrange your entire schedule.

Whether you're a working professional, parent, student, caregiver, or simply someone with a packed calendar, my goal is to make it easier to access support at times that work for you.

Current office hours include:
🌱Tuesday: 10:00 AM – 4:30 PM
🌱Wednesday: 1:00 PM – 9:00 PM
🌱Friday: 11:00 AM – 9:00 PM
🌱Saturday: 9:30 AM – 4:30 PM
If you've been putting off prioritizing your wellness because life feels too busy, this may be your reminder that support is available.

Acupuncture has been practiced for thousands of years, yet it continues to be studied, explored, and discussed within modern healthcare and wellness communities.

Today, researchers around the world are examining how acupuncture interacts with the body's systems and contributes to whole-person wellness. As interest in integrative care continues to grow, acupuncture is increasingly becoming part of larger conversations about supporting health from multiple perspectives.

What I find most exciting is that modern research and traditional wisdom do not have to compete with one another. Both offer valuable insights that help us better understand the human experience.

As a practitioner, I remain committed to ongoing education and professional development so I can continue bringing both time-tested knowledge and evolving perspectives into my work.

Acupuncture has a long history, but it is also a field that continues to grow and evolve. That combination is part of what makes this medicine so fascinating.

Have you ever heard of moxibustion?

Moxibustion is a traditional technique used in Chinese and Japanese medicine that involves the warming properties of an herb called mugwort, often referred to as "moxa" in Japanese.

Practitioners may use moxa near acupuncture points or along specific pathways in the body as part of an individualized treatment plan. The gentle warmth created by moxibustion has been used for centuries and remains an important tool within Traditional Chinese Medicine today.

One interesting fact: some practitioners use moxibustion seasonally. In certain traditions, summer is viewed as an especially important time for preventative wellness practices because of the season's naturally abundant warmth and energy.

While acupuncture needles tend to get most of the attention, moxibustion has a rich history of its own and remains an important part of holistic care.

Choosing a wellness practitioner is a personal decision, and experience matters.

When you're considering acupuncture, it can be helpful to look beyond credentials alone and think about the overall experience you're hoping to have.

Some questions worth asking include:
▪️What training and certifications does the practitioner hold?
▪️What styles or approaches do they practice?
▪️Do they take time to understand the whole person?
▪️Do you feel comfortable, respected, and heard?
▪️Does their philosophy align with your goals and values?
Every practitioner brings a unique perspective to their work. My approach is rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine, Five Element Acupuncture, trauma-informed care, and the belief that every person is already whole and complete.

Finding the right fit can make all the difference in your wellness journey.

Summer often brings longer days, more social activities, travel, outdoor time, and changes to our usual routines.

While many people look forward to the season, these shifts can also influence how we feel physically, emotionally, and mentally. Changes in sleep patterns, stress levels, hydration, energy, and daily rhythms can all affect our sense of balance.

Traditional Chinese Medicine places great importance on the relationship between our environment and our well-being. Rather than viewing health as separate from the seasons, it encourages us to pay attention to how our bodies respond to the world around us.

This summer, consider checking in with yourself:
🌱How is your energy?
🌱Are you getting the rest you need?
🌱Have your routines changed?
🌱What is your body trying to tell you?
Sometimes wellness begins with simply noticing.

Healing begins with feeling safe enough to be yourself.

I believe every person deserves care that honors their lived experience, identity, needs, and goals.

Whether you're part of the LGBTQ+ community, neurodivergent, navigating PTSD, trauma, anxiety, or simply looking for a wellness space where you can show up authentically, you are welcome here.

My practice is built on trauma-informed, inclusive care. That means listening first, respecting boundaries, and tailoring each experience to the individual sitting in front of me.
🌱You do not need to change who you are to receive support.
🌱You do not need to have all the answers before scheduling an appointment.
🌱You do not need to fit into anyone else's idea of wellness.
🌱You are welcome exactly as you are.

06/19/2026

Acupuncture is one of the most recognized parts of Traditional Chinese Medicine, but it's also one of the most misunderstood.

One of the questions I hear most often is, "What exactly happens during acupuncture?"

At its core, acupuncture uses very fine, sterile needles placed at specific points on the body. The goal isn't to "fix" a symptom. Instead, acupuncture views symptoms as messages from the body, mind, and spirit, signals that invite us to pay closer attention to our overall well-being.

Every treatment is individualized. Two people experiencing similar concerns may receive completely different treatments because no two people are exactly alike.

If you're nervous about needles, you're not alone. Many first-time patients are surprised by how gentle the experience feels. I also offer a variety of needle-free techniques when appropriate, and together we'll determine what feels right for you.

Acupuncture is less about chasing symptoms and more about understanding the whole person. If you've been curious about acupuncture but aren't sure where to start, I'd be happy to answer your questions.
