We want to publicly congratulate our newest Paramedic, Ellen!

Countless hours of hard work, class time, studying, and clinicals go into earning your Paramedic license. This is no small feat, and Ellen excelled throughout her program.

Ellen is now the 4th Paramedic on our crew, and we couldn’t be more proud of her!

Last week, Evan and Lis headed to North Union Warriors High School to certify their teachers and coaches in CPR and First Aid.

We enjoyed spending the morning with this crew and look forward to coming back! Thanks for having us, North Union!

Welcome back to school to all the students and teachers across Kossuth County!

With the start of school comes an important reminder for everyone sharing our roads..

When a school bus has its red lights flashing and stop arm extended 🛑STOP🛑 Do not pass the bus until the stop arm has been retracted and it is safe to proceed.

That stop sign isn’t a suggestion. It means a child may be getting on or off the bus and entering the roadway. A few seconds of patience behind the wheel can prevent a tragedy.

Fun fact: Ambulances are no exception to this rule! Even when responding to an emergency, we stop for school buses too!!

Our newest ambulance has arrived!

Courtesy of Feld Fire Inc. this 2026 Ford E350, manufactured by Wheeled Coach, will replace our 2008 Ford E350, which has served us well over the years and now has 235,000+ miles, along with an outdated layout and safety equipment for patients/staff.

We’re excited to get this new unit equipped and on the road!

We again want to recognize and thank Alex for his heroic actions on Tuesday, July 14. Without question, his quick thinking and decisive actions had a profound impact on two lives that day.

We also want to congratulate Monica and Terese on receiving recognition for their calm and professional presence on the radio that day. Their composure and communication played a vital role in helping ensure a well coordinated response.

Congratulations to all three on these well deserved awards, and thank you for your actions that day!

Our staff would like to thank all of the other responders on scene as well as the dispatchers in Algona for their help with yesterday’s incident. Also a big thank you to University of Iowa Air Care 2 and Mercy Air Med 2 for responding and transporting both individuals. Our hearts go out to the two that were injured as well as their family and friends.
