KUDOS to our Nurse Loraine!!! Read below!

I wanted to take a moment to recognize Loraine for something truly meaningful that happened this week.

Loraine, a Latina, has been caring for a very difficult patient whose prejudices were openly displayed, even through Confederate flags hanging outside the home. This case was emotionally challenging not only because of the patient’s level of care needs, but also because of the barriers created by bias and prejudice.

Yesterday, that same patient said to Loraine:
“I love you. I never thought I could love anyone different from me.”

Those words are powerful. Through compassion, professionalism, exceptional nursing skills, patience, and genuine kindness, Loraine helped someone see beyond skin color and prejudice. She reminded this patient — and all of us — that humanity, care, and love transcend differences.

Kudos to Loraine for overcoming such a difficult barrier and showing what true caregiving looks like. This is the kind of impact healthcare professionals can make every single day. We are proud to have you on our team
