Meet Darlene. ❤️

As Bright Hope's volunteer receptionist, Darlene is often the first person a patient meets when she walks through our doors.

"The services Bright Hope provides are vital to our clients and patients. I get to schedule appointments and welcome them when they arrive. That gives me the opportunity to let them know we can help and, from the very beginning, show them they matter.

I have no medical or counseling training, but as a volunteer, I still get to interact personally and make a real difference. I'm so blessed."

A warm smile, a listening ear, and a caring welcome mean a lot. We're so grateful for volunteers like Darlene, who help every woman feel seen, valued, and cared for from the moment she arrives.

“A whole little person.” ❤️

When this mom first reached out to Bright Hope, she was anxious and confused by an unexpected pregnancy and felt she didn't have much support.

During her appointment, she was very nervous and didn't want to look at the ultrasound screen. Her patient advocate listened to her concerns, discussed her options, and explained what steps she would need to take if she chose to parent. She’s since decided to continue her pregnancy.

Every patient deserves compassionate care, accurate information, and the opportunity to make an informed decision in a supportive environment.

“I love coming here and seeing you guys.” ❤️

When this mom first came to Bright Hope, she was carrying more than a pregnancy — she was carrying a heavy emotional burden. The father of her baby had left, and she was struggling with the thought of raising a child outside marriage.

At her first ultrasound appointment, she saw her growing baby and began to find hope. By the time she returned for a follow-up visit, her outlook had changed. She was more engaged, excited about becoming a parent, and looking ahead to the future.

She shared that she hopes to become a personal care assistant, and we were glad to encourage her with a gift card to help with groceries as she continues her journey.

Every mom's story is unique, and we're honored to provide compassionate care, practical support, and hope when it's needed most.

Although we will miss her dearly, we rejoice that she is now home with the Lord.

Betty passionately served Bright Hope for many decades. She was a former board member, volunteered as a receptionist, faithfully served behind the scenes in countless ways, and was a passionate advocate for our ministry. She made sure everyone she knew heard about the life-changing work God is doing through Bright Hope in the Lehigh Valley.

Our available records show that since 2016, Betty raised more than $62,000 in support of Bright Hope through the Lehigh Valley Walk for Life — a reflection of her steadfast generosity and advocacy in serving families and saving lives.

We are deeply grateful for Betty's years of dedicated service. She leaves a lasting legacy, and she will be greatly missed.

Please keep Betty's family and loved ones in your prayers as they celebrate her life and grieve her loss.

“Sounds like we’re gonna keep him.” ❤️

Those words came from a recent patient after she learned she was unexpectedly pregnant while caring for an 11-month-old.

She came to Bright Hope feeling overwhelmed and unsure of what her next steps should be. She shared that she had been struggling with her mental health and wanted to learn about her options.

During her ultrasound appointment, she listened carefully as our patient advocate provided information and support. By the end of her visit, she decided that parenting was the right choice for her and her growing family.

Our team connected her with counseling resources and reminded her that she can return for parenting classes, baby supplies, and continued support throughout her journey.

Every pregnancy comes with a unique story. We're grateful to walk alongside women as they make informed decisions and receive the support they need.
