We are proud to share that Atlanta Eye Group and our PUPIL Program have been highlighted by the American Optometric Association in celebration of Paraoptometric Appreciation Month! 👏

Established in 2021, the PUPIL Program was created to prioritize internal talent development. By investing heavily in education, structured resources, and career mobility, we set out to empower our staff from within. Today, Atlanta Eye Group accounts for nearly 33% of all active Certified Paraoptometrics across the state of Georgia, a milestone that speaks directly to the dedication of our workforce. 📈

This program’s success is a reflection of exceptional leadership and mentorship. Special thanks to Samir Gillani, our CEO, for establishing the initial vision for PUPIL, and Angelyn Smith, MBA, SHRM-CP for executing the initiative. We extend our gratitude to Anisha Haji, OD, CMO, Owner for serving as a core foundation of our educational initiatives, putting her passion, vision, and expertise into shaping our team's success. It’s the last Saturday Supertech Spotlight of September, and as Paraoptometric Month comes to an end, we proudly recognize Chaz! 🎉

Chaz joined AEG in October 2022, starting off his career journey that highlights internal growth. After starting as a technician in our clinics, he stepped up to Lead Tech, leaving a lasting impression across multiple offices.

Through dedication, initiative, and a vision for the business, Chaz worked his way into a leadership role as Director of Revenue Cycle. Today at Headquarters, he acts as a bridge between patient care and finance. Not only has he built his own dedicated billing team, but he also brings his hands-on clinical background to company updates, keeping us updated of billing trends. 💸 🧾

Beyond his impressive progression, Chaz set a company record! He is a Certified Paraoptometric who holds the highest test score ever achieved by an AEG technician! Always willing to lend a hand, Chaz pairs his top-tier knowledge with a fun, welcoming presence that makes him a trusted source of support for everyone around him. Alongside this recognition, we’re so proud to acknowledge her new leadership role as Vice President of the Greater Atlanta Optometric Association Executive Board! She is helping shape the future of our entire profession across the Atlanta area. 👁️

Beyond her work with patients and the wider optometric community, Dr. Patel pours so much energy into helping our optometric technicians prepare for becoming a Certified Paraoptometric. Her dedication is matched only by her curiosity. Her work ethic speaks for itself, but her active, genuine desire to learn and improve is what really makes her stand out. More than that, she has a real passion for getting better. She’s eager to learn, picks things up fast, and is always looking for ways to improve her technical skills.

This Saturday, we’re excited to recognize someone who has been an incredible part of the Atlanta Eye Group from the very beginning!

Shamim joined AEG back in 2016 as a technician at Cumberland, and she’s been an important part of our growth ever since. From Clinical Manager to her current role in our Medical Billing and Auditing Team, she’s continued to bring her experience and knowledge to wherever she’s needed most. 🧾

She has been there through so much of AEG’s journey and has contributed in more ways than we could possibly list. Her experience, work ethic, and commitment to our patients have made her someone we’ve been able to rely on year after year.
