Last week, Dr. Joseph and Kathy Busch attended the 14th ESUR Meeting in Krakow, Poland, joining leading voices in Prostate MRI from around the world.

During the conference, Dr. Busch presented on MRI-Guided TULSA for MRI-visible prostate cancer at the extreme apex — an especially challenging area to treat while preserving quality of life.

The trip also included meaningful conversation and fellowship over dinner with Marta and Alek from Profound Medical.

While the CAPTAIN Trial is one of the most important current studies—especially because it compares TULSA directly to prostatectomy surgery—it’s far from the only research out there.

There are:
• Multi-center TACT trials
• Long-term follow-up studies
• Ongoing trials evaluating safety, effectiveness, and quality of life

There are also numerous peer-reviewed publications—including work from our very own Busch Center team, such as “Retrospective Analysis of MRI-guided Transurethral Ultrasound Ablation (TULSA) in Prostate Cancer Lesions at the Extreme Apex.”

Many treatment options available today are limited to prostates measuring up to 100 cc.

Dr. Busch, however, has successfully treated glands as large as 275 cc using the TULSA Procedure.
