Introducing Honey. 🍯🤍
Honey is 9 years old.
As far as we know, she’s never had a name before.
She came from the former Ridglan Farms breeding facility, where thousands of beagles were bred for research and many endured heartbreaking conditions before the facility was shut down. We think Honey spent much of her life being used for breeding.
Until now, she had never felt grass beneath her paws. Never watched the clouds drift across the sky. Never basked in the warmth of the sun.
The things most dogs experience without a second thought are completely new to her.
She’s learning what freedom feels like.
In so many ways, she’s like a puppy—curious about every scent, every sound, every patch of grass. And yet, despite everything she’s endured, she is unbelievably gentle. Sweet beyond words.
Honey.
The moment I held her, I cried.
Not only because of what she’d survived, but because she felt like Hontas. It’s impossible to explain, but there was an immediate familiarity in her soul. It felt as though a piece of Hontas had found its way back to me.
For more than a decade, I’ve intentionally built my business and our home around one belief: that beauty and wellness should never come at the expense of an animal’s life. Every skincare product I choose, every candle, every cosmetic, every household product I can control has been guided by a commitment to cruelty-free living.
Over the years, I’ve reached out again and again, hoping to adopt through the Beagle Freedom Project or welcome one of the Ridglan beagles into our family. Each time, I was told we lived too far away and transportation wasn’t possible.
So when the opportunity came to bring Honey home, it felt like everything had aligned exactly as it was meant to.
She is also the perfect companion for our sweet Aries.

Two girls who deserve to spend the rest of their lives doing all the wonderfully ordinary beagle things they were always meant to do—following their noses, sleeping in soft beds, feeling sunshine on their faces, asking for treats, taking slow walks, and being endlessly loved.
I truly believe they’ll help each other heal.
Honey’s story is a reminder that animal testing isn’t an abstract issue. It’s individual lives. Dogs with personalities, preferences, fears, and an incredible capacity to love. They deserve names. They deserve families. They deserve freedom.
