Without trust, healing can’t happen. Without connection and safety, healing can’t happen.

As a seasoned therapist, the most important part of my role in someone’s life, it to see them, REALLY see them. The confidence to pause a session in order to acknowledge the lack of trust and safety from the client is so crucial and powerful.

That’s what I did. I noticed the clients body language. I noticed her inability to think or talk. When working with trauma, clients show up in many different ways. It’s important to know how to navigate and support clients through all their parts.

The healing and connection that was present after that moment of prayer, was a moment we both needed. Community, villages, traditions, connections, rituals, spirituality, and culture (just to name a few) are what help us feel connected to the world we walk on and to the people around us.

When I say, “let’s connect” I mean it. ♥️

Your body keeps the score; even when your mind has moved on.

If any of these felt familiar, that is not weakness. That is your nervous system doing exactly what it was designed to do: protect you.

The 3 signs your body may be holding unprocessed trauma:
1. You startle easily or feel constantly on edge
2. You shut down or go numb when things get emotional
3. Certain people, places, or smells trigger a feeling you cannot explain

The good news? These responses are not permanent. With the right support, EMDR, somatic work, and nervous system regulation healing is absolutely possible.
