Sometimes the weight of life can feel like this picture; dark, isolating, and like something is always hovering nearby.

During Su***de Prevention Awareness Month, we’re reminded that mental health struggles are not always visible. Someone can be carrying grief, depression, trauma, loneliness, or hopelessness while still showing up every day as if everything is okay.

Check on your people. Pay attention to the silence. Make room for the difficult conversations. And remind someone that they don’t have to sit with the darkness alone.

If you or someone you know is experiencing a mental health or suicidal crisis, call or text 988 for the Su***de & Crisis Lifeline.

Thanks Cathy Walls and The Grey Method for inviting Mending Hearts to share our programs and resources with the community and connect with other organizations. With so many programs and resources available throughout Anderson County, our community should have every opportunity to thrive. Awareness creates access, and access gives people choices. We hope this is the beginning of stronger connections, greater collaboration, and helping people make informed choices about the resources and support available to them.

This summer, Mending Hearts partnered with Vine & Branch to provide dinner for the youth at New Foundations Home for Children. It was such a rewarding experience connecting with the youth and catching up with the amazing staff. We’re grateful for the opportunity to serve and proud to say we’re forever friends of New Foundations!
