Lucia Rivera, age 96, of Andrews, Texas, passed away on May 7, 2026, in Andrews, Texas, leaving behind a legacy of faith, love, and devotion that will be cherished by all who knew her.
Born on December 13, 1929, in Santa Anna, California, Lucia carried the values of hard work, family, and perseverance throughout her life. She was a kind and faith-filled woman whose gentle spirit touched the hearts of those around her. Her life was marked by a steady devotion to her loved ones and a deep commitment to the Christian faith that guided her every day.
Lucia was a devoted Christian and a longtime member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Andrews, Texas. She spent many hours in prayer and Bible study, finding strength and comfort in her relationship with God. Her faith was not only a personal source of peace, but also a shining example to her family, who will remember her as a woman of grace, humility, and steadfast belief.
Family was the center of Lucia’s life, and she treasured every moment spent with those she loved. She is survived by her children, Silvia Macias of Andrews, Roberto Macias of Andrews, Ernesto Macias of Andrews, and Ever Macias of Andrews. She also leaves to cherish her memory her siblings, Franasca Rivera and Jose Luis Rivera, along with her grandchildren, Roberto Macias, Mayra Macias, Ernesto Macias, Saul Macias, Raymundo Macias, Jesus Macias, Mary Macias, and Armando Macias. Her legacy continues through her many great-grandchildren, Lucia Navarro, Mia Macias, Vannesa Macias, Ian Navarro, Meredy Macias, Arieal Macias, Karla Macias, Kynley Macias, Luis Tavarrez, America Tavarrez, Ever Macias, Kristen Macias, Robert Macias, Zeus Macias, Sophia Macias, Estrella Macias and Vincent Macias, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other loving family members who will carry her memory forward with love.
Lucia was preceded in death by her parents, Inocente Rivera and Felicitas Villa; her husband, Raymundo Macias; her siblings, Julian, Roberto, Inocente, Armando, Pablo, Dolores, and Eusevia; and her grandchildren, Ever and Liliana. She was welcomed into eternal rest by those who went before her, and her family takes comfort in knowing that she is reunited with them in the presence of the Lord.
Those who knew Lucia will remember her as a woman who loved life’s simple pleasures and found joy in the company of her family. She loved to listen to music and sing along, go shopping, and travel. Her favorite vacation spot was the beach, where she found peace and happiness. Above all, she delighted in cooking for her family, especially her grandchildren, and some of their favorite dishes were her pancakes, chicken spaghetti, and tamales. These treasured meals were more than food, as they were expressions of her love and care, shared around the family table and remembered with gratitude.
Lucia will be remembered as a matriarch of her family, a source of strength, wisdom, and unconditional love. Her presence brought comfort and unity, and her example will continue to inspire those she leaves behind. She lived a life rooted in faith and guided by compassion, and her memory will remain a blessing to her family and friends.
A visitation will be held on Monday, May 11, 2026, from six until eight o'clock in the evening with a rosary prayer service beginning at seven o'clock at McNett Funeral Home in Andrews. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Andrews at ten o'clock in the morning followed by a burial at Andrews North Cemetery
