Building a freestanding children's hospital requires a lot of research, teamwork, and cardboard! 🔍🤝📦

Last week, the NC Children’s design team hosted a few focused sessions featuring life-size cardboard mockups. Patient families, clinical and non-clinical teams visited ‘Cardboard City’ to get a feel of the physical space and test the workflow and layout for a variety of scenarios.

As we continue through the campus design process, these mockups will be refined so teams can immerse themselves in the space, provide feedback, and make necessary adjustments well before construction begins.
