Laura Doyle, co-owner of Moonstone Midwives, had the honor of speaking with Clare Wiley from KQED for an important article highlighting the growing maternity care crisis in rural Northern California, and the need for accessible, relationship-centered birth care in Humboldt County.
While the article centers Laura’s perspective, Moonstone has never been a one woman show! This birth center was built through the vision, dedication, and collaboration of many amazing people over many years. Moonstone Midwives was founded by Laura Doyle and Calista Young over 10 years ago alongside the original team of Suzanne Colby, Brandi Perez, and Ananda Morehead- the women who helped lay the foundation for the care we continue to provide today.
