👁️ June is Cataract Awareness Month 👁️

Did you know that cataract services are available right here at SCK Health with Dr. Wayne Anliker?

Cataracts are a common part of aging and can cause blurry vision, glare from lights, faded colors, and difficulty seeing at night. Because cataracts develop gradually, many people don't realize how much their vision has changed until it begins affecting their daily activities.

That's why regular eye evaluations are so important. Comprehensive eye exams can help detect cataracts and other eye conditions early, allowing you to receive the care you need to maintain your vision and quality of life.

If you've noticed changes in your eyesight—or if it's been a while since your last eye exam—consider scheduling an evaluation. Healthy vision plays an important role in your independence, safety, and overall well-being.

SCK Health will be offering sports physicals for Arkansas City Middle School and Arkansas City High School students on:
📅 June 1, 3 & 5
🕛 Noon–4 p.m.
📍 SCK Health Urgent Care (enter through the Urgent Care doors)

💲 Cost: $20 (cash or check only)
✔️ Checks payable to SCK Health
🫀 Optional parent-requested EKG available for an additional $10

Physical packets are available at ACMS, ACHS, or on-site. Packets must be completed and signed before the physical.

Also coming soon: ACHS and ACMS athletics will begin using a new registration platform called Bound for the 2026-27 school year. QR codes and registration links will be shared soon.

Yesterday evening, something beautiful happened at SCK Health. A cyclist traveling across the country with The Ride and Gobundance felt led to stop in Arkansas City — and his visit became a powerful reminder of what community truly means.

What began as a simple question —“Do you know anyone who could use a helping hand?” — turned into an evening filled with compassion and genuine human connection. Two of our team members, both facing difficult challenges, were lifted up by strangers who showed up with open hearts and a mission to spread hope.

Moments like this remind us that grace often arrives quietly, through people who choose kindness. Our SCK Health family felt that grace in a profound way.

❤️ CPR & AED Awareness Week ❤️

Would you know what to do if someone's heart suddenly stopped beating?

During CPR & AED Awareness Week, SCK Health encourages everyone to learn the lifesaving skills of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) use. In a cardiac emergency, every second matters. Immediate CPR can help maintain blood flow to vital organs, and an AED can deliver a lifesaving shock that may restore a normal heart rhythm before emergency responders arrive.

Why become CPR certified?

✔️ Help save the life of a family member, friend, coworker, or neighbor
✔️ Learn how to recognize and respond to cardiac arrest
✔️ Understand how to safely and effectively use an AED
