Live4Lali Live4Lali works to reduce stigma and prevent substance use disorder among individuals, and families.

Live4Lali (www.live4lali.org) works to raise awareness of substance use issues among individuals, families and communities to prevent use among youth and minimize the overall health, legal, emotional and social harms among individuals and families impacted by substance use. Goals
1) Raising awareness of the increase in substance use and its relationship to the overall health, including behavioral

health and wellbeing, of individuals, families and communities.
2) Influencing the public and private sector regarding substance use education, prevention and treatment issues by amplifying the needs, voices and experiences of impacted individuals, families and communities.
3) Assisting impacted individuals and families through services that increase social support, enhance resilience and strengthen positive mental health and behavioral change.
4) Promoting health and harm reduction at the individual, family and community levels through drug prevention education for youth and parents and overdose education and training for professionals. Services
- FREE Community Recovery Center based in Arlington Heights, IL, serving Suburban Cook, Lake, McHenry and DuPage counties, offering harm reduction, education, resources, support, naloxone training, and treatment navigation. We offer workshops/seminars, recovery meetings, various support groups, and continuing education for professionals (first responders, clinicians, prescribers, etc.).
- Individual and family peer-to-peer support
- Consultations with volunteer mental health professionals who provide screenings, assessments and referrals.
- Community-wide implementation of comprehensive opioid awareness and overdose prevention strategies.
- SIBLINGS STRONG (https://www.facebook.com/groups/siblingsstrong/) – our private online grief support group for people who have lost a sibling to a drug overdose – Facebook.com/groups/siblingsstrong
- Community-focused learning opportunities via forums, panels and seminars utilizing subject matter experts and up-to-date information to shed light on a variety of drug trend and mental health-related issues concerning the public.
- “Helping” professions education experiences via customized training programs which feature our professional team of experts for mental health professional social service agencies, educators, medical professional, law enforcement, legislators, businesses, professional associations and beyond.
- Overdose prevention and harm reduction education to train people the importance of Naloxone, the opioid overdose antagonist, how drugs affect the brain and body, signs of use, intoxication and overdose, and how to appropriately respond to an overdose.
