As we start a new year, we are also celebrating the 7th anniversary of Hometown Health. I wanted to take a moment and thank all of my patients for being part of our practice. As a clinic, we continue to strive to provide exceptional, personalized care for all of our patients.

As we celebrate another year, we are holding a food drive supporting Mansfield Mission Center's Mission Market. The Mission Market provides food to those in need who are receiving support from the Mission Center. We’ll be accepting food donations at the office (500 E Debbie Ln, Arlington) this Wednesday – Friday (January 14-16). Please feel free to drop off donations during office hours those days, and we’ll be sure to get all of the donations to the Market.

As many of you know the Mission Center is a key part of our community, supporting our neighbors who may need assistance in a variety of ways. I’ve served as the Medical Director for the Mission Center’s Linda Nix Clinic, a free healthcare clinic, for several years, and currently serve on the Mission Center board. This January we celebrate 7 years since Hometown Health opened. If I had to choose one word that represents the foundation this clinic was built on, it would be "simple." The idea of removing the confusion and complications that have overtaken healthcare, and getting it back to a simple doctor-patient relationship. A practice based on real people, real relationships, real communication and real medical recommendations. So, this article that I saw today was a good reminder that I thought I would share. Thank you to everyone who trusts us with your health, and may you all have a happy, healthy New Year.

If you want to improve your health in 2026, experts say keep it simple. Be cautious of health and wellness fads. There are no magic fixes.

Hometown Health is excited to announce that we’ve been voted as the Best Family Medicine Clinic in Mansfield/Arlington for the 4th consecutive year by Living Magazine Arlington-Mansfield. Thanks to all of our patients, and friends throughout the community, for your support. And, thanks to my amazing staff for creating such a warm environment for our patients.

I hope that this continued recognition helps show that Direct Primary Care is a model where patients get the more personalized care they desire, and doctors can enjoy practicing medicine.

Today marks the official 6 year anniversary of Hometown Health. It’s my annual reminder to thank everyone who has trusted us with their healthcare over the years. And to thank all of those who supported my dream to do something different in opening my own family medicine clinic, especially Dana Marley Charles. A time to thank my staff, both past and present, for serving our patients well. And, a time to remind you that if you’re frustrated with the “healthcare system,” then our office can provide a fresh alternative to the status quo.

And, we got a new sign. One that can be seen despite all of the construction.

Hometown Health celebrated our 5th anniversary this week with a commemorative ribbon cutting with the Mansfield Business Alliance and a party to thank all of our friends and supporters. Besides just having fun, we also collected food and cash donations for Mansfield Mission Center (I can’t believe how much was donated, but the pictures don’t do it justice).

A special thanks to my staff, both past and present. And thanks to Emerald Door Bakery and Kingdom Graphics for our cookies and t-shirts, and to Pine Cove Dental for contributing to our prize giveaway.
