Today, it was truly an honor and privilege for Hollifield Mortuary to serve the family of Ms. Gertrude “Ms. Gert” Mackey.

What many people may not realize is that the Mackey-Johnson family has been a part of the Hollifield family for generations. Our relationship extends far beyond this service and even predates the opening of our funeral home. Over the years, we have been humbled to care for many members of this beloved family, including both of Ms. Gerts’ late daughters and numerous other relatives.

While we never take joy in the reason families come to us, we are deeply grateful for the trust that has been placed in Hollifield Mortuary across the decades. Being entrusted with the care of multiple generations of one family is one of the greatest honors our profession can offer.

To the Mackey-Johnson family, thank you for allowing us to walk beside you once again during this difficult time. We continue to pray that God grants you strength, peace, and comfort in the days ahead.
