Kelly Blackwell, MA, CCC-SLP is a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist located in Central Maine.

Kelly graduated from the University of Maine with a Bachelor of Arts in 2010, and a Master of Arts in Communication Sciences and Disorders in 2012. She has received her Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Hearing Association (ASHA), and maintains annual membership through the completion of continued education/training in the field of speech pathology. lackwell Speech Therapy is to partner with families and educators, by providing quality speech therapy services with expertise and compassion to children within our community, in order to enhance their speaking and non-speaking communication.

🎓Speech Therapy Graduate🎓

Summer has been busy already, but I couldn’t let this graduation pass by without sharing and celebrating!

June was always excited to attend sessions and offered many hugs to this clinician! This kiddo enjoyed participating in a variety of play-based therapy activities, to include: art projects, board games, sensory bins, and the iPad.

June made steady gains in therapy, decreasing use of several phonological patterns, helping to improve production of /l, k, g, sh/, initial consonants, l-blends, and s-clusters.

This client is funny, kind, and always ready to share the best stories. I have loved watching her confidence in communication grow along with the newly mastered speech sound targets!

🎓Speech Therapy Graduation Day🎓

Two graduates in one day— so, so bittersweet!

Colton always appears excited for his therapy sessions on Friday mornings! He made steady gains with /r/ and vocalic ‘r’ targets, demonstrating the ability to produce accurately in phrases, sentences, read alouds, and conversational speech. Colton loves participating in play-based therapy activities, including: art projects, board games, and the remote control bus. This client is as funny and kind as they come, and I will truly miss him in therapy!

Dax is usually asking this clinician if it is his turn for therapy, and attends sessions with excitement! This client enjoys many play-based therapy materials, including: sensory bins, board games, iPad, and playdoh. Dax made steady gains with the following speech sounds during his time in therapy: /k, g, l, v/, s-clusters, and l-blends. Dax is polite, thoughtful, and full of fun and entertaining stories!

These kiddos bring so much joy wherever they go, and I feel lucky to have been part of their journeys! 🥹

🌟May Speech Star🌟

Weston is always so excited to attend sessions! He comes in with a big smile on his face, and loves utilizing various play-based therapy materials, to include: crafts, board games, iPad, and soccer foosball!

Weston has been working toward increased accuracy with several speech sounds, and has recently made steady gains with ‘sh’ and ‘j’ productions. This client works hard every session and doesn’t give up, even when faced with challenging tasks/targets.

With all that being said, the trait that stands out most about Weston is his kindness toward others! He has a heart of gold.

Dax is always excited to attend sessions, and greets this clinician with a big smile! This client loves participating in play-based therapy activities, including: coloring, board games, bowling, and the remote control bus! Dax works hard, and has met several speech sound goals since beginning speech therapy. Recent sessions have targeted accurate productions of ‘sh’, ‘ch’, and s-clusters.

This client has made significant gains with the production of a variety of age-appropriate speech sounds, helping to improve the overall intelligibility of her speech across contexts and listeners.

Emily is kind, helpful, hard-working, and full of joy and excitement. I will miss her, but also very proud of all that she has accomplished during our time together in speech therapy. 🩷
