Last week, our very own Shasta Newenham was honored with the Maine Public Health Association’s Unsung Hero Award, which recognizes individuals who work behind the scenes to advance public health!

As a regional manager for Maine Family Planning, Shasta oversees a portion of the brick and mortar clinics, the Call Center, and our mobile medical unit, Health on Wheels. She not only led the 2024 implementation of Health on Wheels, but has also been the driving force that fuels the unit, ensuring the smooth daily operation that keeps Health on Wheels moving forward.

Thank you Shasta for your hard work and dedication behind the scenes — that is the very definition of an unsung hero! Please join us in congratulating Shasta on this well-deserved recognition! 💙

The rain couldn't stop this first weekend of Pride Month from being a blast! Thank you to everyone who stopped by our tables in Hallowell, Bar Harbor, Belfast, Waterville, Lewiston, Rockland, and Ellsworth to get resources, write notes to transgender patients, blow bubbles, make keychain, sign up to volunteer with us, and just hang out. 🧡
