Our Community Growth Manager/Housing Director was out at Bolduc Correctional Facility, continuing to build relationships, spread awareness, and connect individuals with opportunities for a better future.

At Housing FGC, we believe that a person’s past should never determine their potential. For individuals preparing to reenter society, having a safe, structured, and supportive living environment can be a critical piece of building a successful future.

Recovery housing is about so much more than providing a roof over someone’s head. It’s about creating an environment where individuals can find stability, build accountability, and begin laying the foundation for lasting change.

A second chance can change a life. Sometimes, all someone needs is a place to begin.

We spend so much time focusing on the person struggling with substance use disorder, making sure they’re getting treatment, attending groups, building a support system, and finding their way in recovery.

But what about the people who have been standing on the sidelines through it all?

What about the mothers who have spent countless nights crying themselves to sleep, wondering if their child is still alive?

What about the fathers who have carried the weight of trying to hold their families together?

What about the spouses, siblings, grandparents, and children who have experienced years of fear, disappointment, broken promises, and uncertainty?

When someone enters treatment, we celebrate that they’re finally getting the help they deserve. And we absolutely should.

But sometimes we forget that while one person is beginning to heal, an entire family is still hurting.

Those family members have experienced trauma, too. They’ve lost sleep, sacrificed their own well-being, and lived in a constant state of worry. Just because their loved one is finally safe in treatment doesn’t mean all that pain suddenly disappears.

Recovery isn’t just about the person putting down the drugs or alcohol. It’s also about the people who have been affected along the way.

So check on that mom. Ask that dad how he’s holding up. Reach out to the spouse who’s been trying to keep everything together.

And when you ask them how they’re doing, actually take the time to listen.

They deserve support. They deserve compassion. They deserve an opportunity to heal, too.

Because substance use disorder affects the entire family, and healing should never be reserved for just one person. ❤️

The men and women of Housing FGC got together for a fun day of laser tag! It was great to see everyone enjoying themselves, sharing some laughs, and making memories together. The residents definitely showed up ready to play, and let’s just say the staff got absolutely destroyed! 😂🔫
Days like these remind us how important it is to have fun, build friendships, and enjoy life in recovery!

🎉 BIG NEWS FOR HOUSING FGC! 🎉

We are excited to announce that our newest recovery residence in Farmington, Maine is officially MARR CERTIFIED! 🏡💙

This is a huge milestone for Housing FGC and for our continued expansion into Franklin County. Becoming MARR certified represents our commitment to providing safe, structured, accountable, and recovery-focused housing for individuals working to rebuild their lives.

Opening this house has taken a lot of hard work, planning, community support, and dedication from our team. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who helped make this possible.

Housing FGC was honored to be part of this amazing community event. Thank you to everyone who waved, cheered, and stopped to say hello along the parade route. It was wonderful to see so many people coming together to celebrate our community.
