At the Optometric Vision Development & Rehabilitation Association, our mission is improving lives by advancing excellence in developmental and rehabilitative neuro-optometric vision care through education and board certification. Established in 1970, OVDRA provides board certification for optometrists and vision therapists who are prepared to offer state-of-the-art services in:
Behavioral and developmental vision care
Vision therapy

Call For 2027 Annual Meeting Call for Papers & Posters

The Optometric Vision Development and Rehabilitation Association (OVDRA) is making an open call for abstracts of research studies and case reports to be presented at the 2027 Annual Meeting in Orlando, FL, either as papers (oral presentations that typically highlight developing or new research, or a case report that highlights a controversy or innovation in clinical care), or as posters.

All abstracts will be reviewed by the Research Committee and will be judged on the basis of overall quality, completion of the required information, relevance to developmental, behavioral, and functional vision, subject matter, innovation, and attention to key questions in the field. All contributors will be notified of the Research Committee’s action starting November 16, 2026.

OVDRA President Elect, Dr. Jennifer Smith-Zolman recently visited UC Berkeley Herbert Wertheim School of Optometry & Vision Science as part of the Tour de Optometry.

Every academic year, the OVDRA Board of Directors and select Past Presidents hit the road to visit optometry schools across North America — spreading the word on what a career in vision therapy can look like.

A special thanks to the OVDRA Board of Directors, Past Presidents, Dr. Lynn Hellerstein, Mountain States, and all those who contributed to the Tour Match with donations of money and time!
