"It's been better than I ever expected."

Four months after a total knee replacement with Dr. Hurt, this patient is moving easily again, and his knee is straighter, too. Before surgery, his left knee was bone-on-bone, sore on hikes and hard on stairs.

He'd heard mixed things and wasn't sure what to expect, but he was walking within a day or so and getting around easily within two weeks. The surgery even corrected the knock-knee alignment in that leg. He's been so happy with the result that he's decided not to wait to have his other knee done.

We're thrilled to welcome Dr. David Foley to the Austin Orthopedic Institute team! 🎉

Dr. Foley is an orthopedic spine surgeon who completed his spine surgery fellowship at Hospital for Special Surgery / Weill Cornell Medical College in New York. He did his orthopedic surgery residency at Indiana University School of Medicine, where he served as Chief Resident, and earned his MD and MBA from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center.

He's no stranger to Central Texas. Dr. Foley earned his undergraduate degree at The University of Texas at Austin and worked in Round Rock before starting medical school. 🤘

His research on cervical disc replacement, including 20-year outcome studies, has been published in the journal Spine. He also holds a U.S. patent for a joint rehabilitation device.

Dr. Foley treats neck and back conditions, including disc herniations, spinal stenosis, sciatica, and degenerative disc disease. His care ranges from conservative treatment to surgery when it's needed.
