We’re thrilled to share that Westminster has been named a 2026 Best of ATX Readers’ Choice winner for Best Nursing Home, recognizing the exceptional care provided at The Arbour, Westminster’s Health Center.

With 50,000 nominations and 131,000 votes cast, the Austin community showed up in record-breaking numbers to recognize the local businesses and organizations they know, trust and love.

Presented this year by Austin Monthly and the Austin American-Statesman, the Best of ATX Readers’ Choice awards make this recognition especially meaningful.

Thank you to everyone who voted for Westminster, and congratulations to our dedicated team at The Arbour!

Our Silent Auction is about more than bidding on great items. It’s about coming together for a cause that means so much to our Westminster community. 💜

Every bid helps support Alzheimer's Texas and the important work they do for individuals and families throughout Central Texas.

We’re grateful to everyone who has donated, participated and helped us continue this Westminster tradition.

What does CARES mean to us?

It means recognizing the value of every person.

It means creating opportunities for independence, connection and purpose at every stage of life.

And it means looking beyond our own walls to ask how we can help others experience those same things.

That's the idea at the heart of the Westminster CARES Foundation—and the promise that will guide its work.

A bold new vision often begins with someone who believes in what's possible.

Longtime Austin philanthropists Dick and Sara Rathgeber made a transformational $1 million pledge to help launch the Westminster CARES Foundation and extend Westminster's impact across Texas.

Their leadership gift provides a powerful foundation for what comes next: supporting programs, partnerships and resources that improve quality of life, promote independence and strengthen connections for older adults and people with disabilities throughout Texas.

It's more than a remarkable gift. It's an investment in what CARES can become.

Westminster's announcement says the Foundation will provide grants, education, consulting, equipment and other resources—not just grants—so I like keeping that broader language.

Giving back isn't new at Westminster. It's part of our history.

Over the years, Westminster residents and associates have turned generosity into meaningful community impact.

Westminster reported raising more than $1 million for philanthropic causes over a decade, including approximately $250,000 in 2022, $300,000 in 2023 and $350,000 to 32 local nonprofits in 2024!

One cause has been especially close to the Westminster community: Alzheimer's Texas. Since the mid-1980s, Westminster has raised approximately $2 million in support of the organization.

That longstanding culture of generosity helped lay the groundwork for what's next: the Westminster CARES Foundation and an opportunity to extend Westminster's impact across Texas.

Back-to-school season has us going back to Austin High! 🎓

Earlier this year, we shared the remarkable story of the 51 Austin High School graduates who now call Westminster home. And just like the best stories, this one keeps giving us new chapters to tell.

As students across Austin head back to school, KXAN-TV caught up with some of our Austin High alumni to look back on their own school days, the friendships that have lasted through the decades and what it means to still share those connections today.

We love seeing their story continue to resonate and remind us that while school days may end, great friendships and great stories can last a lifetime.

Thank you to KXAN for helping us share another chapter.
