In honor of Memorial Day, last week Westminster veterans gathered for a special cookout hosted by Executive Director Chuck Borst. It was an afternoon filled with gratitude, camaraderie, and remembrance. We’re proud to create moments like these that bring neighbors together to reflect, connect, and honor those who served.

This Memorial Day, we paused to remember and honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

We’re especially proud to share that Westminster resident Jean Diebolt was recently featured in a FOX 7 Memorial Day story, reflecting on service, remembrance, and what this day truly means. Her voice is a powerful reminder that behind every act of courage is a story worth sharing.

As a community, we are honored to stand alongside those who have served and to help keep their stories and their legacy alive.

Westminster was founded in 1967 and was Austin's first continuing care retirement community. More than 70 veterans call it home. FOX 7 Austin's Donny Wong and Libbi Farrow spoke to Westminster's only female veteran resident.

We celebrated our incredible nursing associates all week long for National Nurses Week! From vendor‑sponsored lunches to a special coffee cart created by Westminster's Security Dept. for that extra boost, every detail was designed to say thank you. Our community came together to curate thoughtful gift bags filled with goodies, and the excitement continued with raffles and big wins throughout the week!
