From predicate 🥚to podium 🐣 to patient! 🦢💗

I’ve spent well over a decade studying, teaching, and speaking about feminine energy-based devices as well as minimally invasive and surgical procedures like l***aplasty and vaginoplasty. This one is for the moms raising boys.👦

Monday was a long one. I had a full facelift case that included face and necklift, blepharoplasty, pan-facial fat grafting and a full face thulium laser treatment — basically an all-day affair.🥴 By the time I got home, my back was aching, but I was just quietly going about my evening.

Then my nearly 16 year-old son Houston walked through the front door with a dozen pink roses for me and a bronze rose candle. I hadn’t asked for anything.

He asked me how my day was, how the case went, and then got the heating pad out for my back and brought me a glass of water.

It may seem like a small thing, but as a mom, it wasn’t small to me. 💕

I find myself semi-mortified and on complete edge sometimes raising teenage boys in a world where we hear way too many stories and a constant negative news scrolling about young men who haven’t learned how to treat women with respect, kindness and care. Young men who treat women the wrong way. I thank God every day for my sons, and I work hard to teach them to respect and care for women.

And then something like this happens.

A bouquet of roses. A heating pad. A glass of water. ♥️

The way a boy treats his mother is where he first learns how to treat women. Seeing that kind of compassion, empathy, and sense of protectiveness since he’s so much stronger than me already means more to me than he’ll ever know. Proud of the young men my boys are becoming. 🌹

✨ As an early adopter of Junera®, I was looking for a “segue procedure” for patients who didn’t necessarily want or need a facelift yet, or for whom surgery wasn’t in their budget or their life plan right then. 💭

THE SURGEON AS THE PATIENT —
Part 2: 9 weeks post-op visit to NYC! 🗽

Dropping new reel here for oft requested before and afters, recovery ❤️‍🩹 hacks and for the surgeons intraoperative tips (little graphic ⚠️warning)!

Goal: look younger again.

Status: ✅ Achieved. Was carded at TacoDeli and Matt’s El Rancho, I think they may have been trying to make me feel good though. 😬🤷🏻‍♀️

9 weeks ago, I went from being the plastic surgeon to being the patient. Now I can really appreciate the difference between knowing what recovery should look like and actually experiencing it.

I had a high SMAS facelift with nanofat, necklift and upper blepharoplasty with Dr. Sherrell Jerone Aston. His technical expertise, ability to listen to women and do EXACTLY what they say 😜 and years of experience were a big part of why I chose him!

Recovery was not prolonged! I was back in the OR by one week out. My patients were so supportive and kind to me - anytime I walked in the room they asked how I was doing and genuinely cared! Thank you all! 🙏

Wear it anyway. I’ve been obsessed with mine and transferred that on to my patients so much so we sold out Amazon on my favorite kind. 😂

• **Sleep elevated on your back.** Your pillow fort is medically necessary.

• **Don’t judge your face at week 2.** Swelling goes down day by day. I happen to be a little odd and like the tightness and numbness. I want to feel the sutures. Know some real work has been done in there!! 😷
• **Choose your surgeon for judgment, not just a fancy before-and-after.** Mine happens to have both👏

This weekend Rex played tuba in concert with the Austin Brass Collective Youth The Austin Brass Collective at Bates Recital Hall at UT. 🎺 The Austin Brass Collective is a group of professional brass musicians who perform across Central Texas and are committed to teaching the next generation. Through their youth program, talented student musicians rehearse with the pros, get section coaching on their own instrument, and sit right beside them to grow as players.

Playing under the guidance of professional musicians in Bates Recital Hall, one of the most beautiful halls in Texas, is amazing. So is being surrounded by the history of the Longhorn Band, the “Showband of the Southwest,” which has been making music on the Forty Acres since 1900. That’s 126 years of tradition. 🧡
