David Alfaro

David Alfaro, 82, of Ballinger, Texas, passed away peacefully on October 18, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

David was born on March 5, 1944, in Plainview, Texas, to Galo Alfaro and Eduvijes “Ruby” (Hernandez) Alfaro. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially working in his yard. David was known for his fun-loving personality. He dearly loved his family, and his dogs held a special place in his heart.

On May 2, 1968, David married the love of his life, Catalina Vasquez. Together, they shared 43 wonderful years of marriage until her passing on March 7, 2012. Their life together was filled with love and many wonderful memories.

David was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Catalina Vasquez; his parents, Galo Alfaro and Eduvijes “Ruby” (Hernandez) Alfaro; his son-in-law, Robert Niavez; his great-grandson, Alexander Niavez; and his sisters, Luisa Herrera, Yolanda Jalomo, Maria Ornelas, Angelita Jalomo, Rosita Alfaro; and his brothers Esteven DelaCerda, Tano DelaCerda, Eustacia DelaCerda and Juan DelaCerda.

He is survived by his daughters, Paula Alfaro (Michael Butler), Ruby Alfaro Patino (Victor), Maria Pospichal, and Yvonne Alfaro; and his sons, David Lee Alfaro (Velma), Peter Alfaro, Gabriel Alfaro, and Vincent Alfaro (Christy); his siblings Richard Alfaro of Lubbock, Texas, and Martin and Eva Gomez of Buda, Texas. He also leaves behind many extended friends and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A Rosary will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, in the chapel at Lange Funeral Home in Ballinger, Texas. His Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 29, 2026, at St. Mary’s Star of the Sea Catholic Church also in Ballinger, Texas, with Father Hilary Ihedioha officiating. Interment will follow at the Latin American Cemetery.

The family wishes to give a very special thanks to Hospice of Ballinger, Nurse Billy (Goldy), Yvonne Falcon, Irene Lopez, Dedra Juarez for their care, kindness, and compassion towards Mr. Alfaro.

Jacinta Marie Jalomo Gallegos

Jacinta Jalomo Gallegos, 40, of Midlothian, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, October 13, 2026.

Jacinta was born on May 2, 1986, in Ballinger, Texas, to Robert Jalomo and Anita (Serbine) Jalomo.

On September 1, 2007, she married her soulmate and the love of her life, Jaziel Gallegos, in Rowena, Texas. She always felt they were meant to be together because her birthday was 5-2 and Jaziel’s was 2-5.

Together they started their military life. They were stationed in Quantico, Virginia from 2007 to 2009, Camp Pendleton, California from 2009 to 2013, Paris, Texas from 2013 to 2017, Okinawa, Japan from 2017 to 2022, Waco, Texas from 2022 to 2025. He retired in 2025 and moved from Waco to Midlothian, Texas where they currently reside. They traveled to many places and saw many things due to their military lives.

In Virginia their first son, Adrian, was born; Ethan, their second son, was born in Utah; and Oliver, their third son, was born in Paris, Texas. Nothing was more important to her than her family. She was a devoted wife, and she cherished their three boys.

She had a love for cooking, and everything she made was wonderful and great. Cinta, as many knew her, was a great and awesome wife, mother, daughter, and sister. Everyone who knew her loved her. She had a beautiful smile, a great big heart, and a loving spirit.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Juan and Sabina Serbine; paternal grandparents, Paul and Dora Jalomo; her father-in-law, Joel Gallegos Sr.

She is survived by her husband, Jaziel Gallegos; sons Adrian, Ethan, and Oliver Gallegos, all of Midlothian, Texas; her parents, Robert and Anita Jalomo of Rowena, Texas; brother Chris (Rena) Jalomo of Snyder, Texas; and sisters Regina (Billy) Lambaren of Hermleigh, Texas, and Dee Anna (Dakota) Hurt of Ballinger, Texas.; and her fur baby, Poppie Mae.

She is also survived by her mother-in-law, Juanita Gallegos from North Richland Hills; sisters-in-law Maria Gallegos from Tyler, Texas, and Annaly (Stephen) Mawire from North Richland Hills; brothers-in-law Joel (April) Gallegos from Grand Prairie, Texas, James (Kimberly) Gallegos from North Richland Hills, and Josh (Ashley) Gallegos from Lake Worth, Texas. She is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

A Rosary will be held for Jacinta at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rowena, Texas, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. with Father Ariel Lagunilla celebrating. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Rowena, Texas

Her passing has left many broken hearts. Jacinta will be forever loved, forever missed, and will never be forgotten!

Gay Nell Howard

Gay Nell Howard, 87, of Ballinger, Texas, passed away on October 16, 2026, at the Sterling Hills Nursing Home in Sweetwater, Texas. She was born September 18, 1939, to Marty and Ruth Jarrett and was a graduate of Ballinger High School. She married Wayne Howard on June 13, 1958. They were married for 41 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Marty and Ruth Jarrett; her husband, Wayne Howard; and her granddaughter, Kaci Howard.

Gay Nell worked in the nursing home industry for more than 35 years and was a member of Glory Road Cowboy Church. She enjoyed her little dogs, flower arranging, painting, gardening, and cooking.

She is survived by her sons, Jeff Howard and wife Melissa of Sweetwater, Texas, Lee Howard and wife Ronda of Tarzan, Texas, and Mike Howard and wife Kathy of Rowena, Texas; and her six grandchildren, Candice Poole and her husband, Tanner; Kelsi Eaves and her husband, Kirby; Wade Howard and his wife, Liz; and Kyle Howard and his wife, Maddison.

She is also survived by six great-grandchildren: Jaylee and Jozee Poole, Kollins and Jagger Howard, and Lennyn and Shaefer Eaves.

Pallbearers will be her grandchildren. Honorary pallbearers will be her great-grandchildren and her honorary granddaughter Allison Sharp.

A visitation for Gay will be held on Thursday, October 22, 2026, from 6:00 to 7:30 pm at Lange Funeral Home in Ballinger, Texas. Her funeral service will be held the following day on Friday, October 23, 2026, at 1:30 pm at Glory Road Cowboy Church in Ballinger, Texas with Myron Halford and Marty Akins officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Glory Road Cowboy Church in Gay's honor.
