Maria "Vicky" Garcia Jean

Maria "Vicky" Garcia Jean passed away at home on July 27, 2026, in Ballinger, TX, with her family beside her.

She was born on Sept. 29, 1970, to Mario Garcia and Agapito Garcia in Coldwater, OH. She was preceded in death by her parents and leaves behind her husband, Abraham Jean, and two grown children, Krissel Norman and Leon Jean, all of Ballinger, TX. She was a proud Mee-Ma to five grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters and three brothers.

Vicky was known and loved by many and highly regarded as a hardworking, honest employee at Walmart. Her valiant battle against her terminal illness serves as a source of inspiration and encouragement to all who knew her. It is also a testament of her faith in Jehovah God and His promise of a resurrection on Earth and a time when no one will say, “I am sick.” Isaiah 33:24.

A celebration of Vicky’s life will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at 1:00 pm at Kingdom Hall in San Angelo, Texas. The service time will follow shortly.

The family wishes to thank all of her spiritual brothers and sisters, as well as their family members who have shown such love and care during this difficult time.

Jearretta Dupree Robinson

Jearretta Dupree Robinson, age 88, passed away peacefully on July 26, 2026.

Jearretta was born on January 29, 1938, in Bayou Sorrel, Louisiana, to the late Woodrow "Dup" Dupree and Thelma "Gracie" Dupree. On November 3, 1959, she married the love of her life, William "Dub" Robinson of Ballinger, Texas, in Plaquemine, Louisiana. Together, they built a life rooted in faith, family, and deep devotion to one another.

Jearretta spent many years bringing joy and confidence to others through her work as a hairdresser. More than just styling hair, her chair was a place of warmth, connection, and conversation. A woman of steadfast faith, she was actively involved in Ladies Bible Study and church activities, living out her beliefs through daily service, boundless generosity, and unconditional love.

Above all, Jearretta cherished visiting with family and friends. She loved anything sweet, an ice-cold Dr. Pepper, and cooking for-literally-everyone. She looked forward to every opportunity to gather her family together, especially during the holidays. Her life cannot be summed up by a single achievement, because it was the everyday moments that made her so special. Her true legacy wasn't built in one grand event, but in a lifetime spent making people feel at home, well-fed, deeply loved, and never alone.

Jearretta was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William "Dub" Robinson; her son, Darrell Glenn Hebert; her parents, Woodrow "Dup" and Thelma "Gracie" Dupree; brother JW Dupree; and sister Lila McClure.

She is survived by her loving son, Faustin Robinson and his wife, Melinda; adopted son Ricky Williams; her cherished grandchildren, Angie Barnes (Blaine), Renee Jones (Steven), Leigh Doucet (Shawn), and Seth Robinson (Heather); 4 great-granddaughters; 4 great-grandsons; and 2 great-great-grandchildren along with a host of dear friends and extended family members who will miss her dearly.

A graveside service to honor and celebrate Jearretta's life will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, July 30, 2026, at Crews Cemetery in Crews, Texas.

Janice Lynn Patton

Janice Lynn Roper Patton was born at home in Norton, Texas, on June 7, 1939, to Cecil H. and Nina Mackey Roper. She was the granddaughter of Runnels County pioneers John and Carrie Mackey and Fletcher and Elizabeth (Lizzie) Roper.

She graduated as Salutatorian from Norton High School in 1957, and a year later, on April 6, 1958, she married Bobby G. Patton of Ballinger. They shared 61 loving years together until his death on February 12, 2020. During their marriage, Janice worked at First National Bank for 33 years and then at Ballinger Elementary School as a substitute teacher. Her main role, however, was making a home for her husband and children. She attended all her children's school parties and school events (If you were a part of those, you might remember the "Kindergarten Punch"). She was a wonderful cook and loved feeding people in their home. Anyone who came to their home felt loved and welcomed as one of the family.

Janice accepted Jesus as her Savior at the young age of 9 and was baptized at Norton Baptist Church. After marriage, she and Bobby were lifelong members of First Baptist Church Ballinger, where she taught 5-year-olds for many years and later taught the women's Ruth Sunday School Class for 22 years.

She loved her Lord and Savior, her husband, her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren with all her heart, and devoted her life to the Lord's service.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Norman W. Roper, and her husband Bobby. Surviving her are: her children, Beth and Ken Manley, Paul and Jennifer Patton, her grandchildren, Garret Heard, Sara Heard, Trey Heard, Kaden Manley, Reece Manley, Destiny Manley, and Brittany Buchanan. She is also survived by many wonderful great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

The family would like to give a special thank you to the caregivers who devoted their lives to loving and caring for our mom the last three years. Thank you to: Joelda Cuellar, Diana Galvan, Belinda Mata, Liz Perez, Henrietta Luera, Judy Dunn, Koda Cuellar, Liz Pinon, Suzie Britton, Donna Plumley, Roxann Plumley, Monica Castillo, Rosa Galindo, Frances Gonzales, and Hospice of San Angelo. Words cannot express how grateful we are to all of you for your dedication and service and for treating Mom as your own family.

A visitation for Janice will be held on Sunday, August 2, 2026, from 1:00 to 2:00 pm at the Family Life Center at the First Baptist Church of Ballinger. Her service will follow immediately after in the sanctuary at 2:00 pm with Marty Akins officiating. Interment will follow at Norton Cemetery, in Norton, Texas.

Jerome Kvapil

Jerome Kvapil, age 85, of San Angelo, TX, passed away peacefully to be with the Lord on July 24, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

Jerome was born on June 30, 1941, in Miles, Texas, to William (Bill) and Annie (Malish) Kvapil.

Jerome proudly served his country in the Army National Guard. In 1971, he began working for the Southern Pacific Railroad (Union Pacific) as an Engineer in Ennis, TX, until 1998. After 27 years, he returned to San Angelo, Texas.

He loved polka music and loved to dance. He loved to tease and joke with everyone and was always willing to help others.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Annie Kvapil.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, LaVerne Kvapil; his son, Daryl Kvapil (Julie) of Waxahachie, TX; his daughter, Audrey Kvapil of San Angelo, TX; and his brother, Patrick Kvapil (Nancy) of Miles, TX. He is also survived by his granddaughters, Tori Kvapil of Austin, TX, and Taylor Kvapil of Waxahachie, TX, and one great-grandson, Gordon Kvapil of Waxahachie, TX. Along with nieces and nephews and extended family.

The visitation will be held at Lange Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, from 5:00 to 8:00 pm. Rosary will be held the following day, Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at 11:30 am at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Rowena, TX. Followed by burial at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Meals for the Elderly in honor of Jerome or to a charity of choice.

The family wishes to thank Gentiva Hospice for the care of Jerome. We would also like to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers during our time of sorrow.

Charles "Chuck" Edward Cartwright

Charles “Chuck” Edward Cartwright, age 74, of Norton, Texas, passed away peacefully on July 22, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

Charles was born on August 19, 1951, in Shamokin, Pennsylvania, to Harold Herbert Cartwright and Dorothy Minnie (Hanisko) Cartwright. One of six siblings, Charles developed a strong work ethic at an early age and became known as a true "jack of all trades." There wasn't much he couldn't fix. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.

Charles proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps. Following his military service, he spent many years as a mechanic for the City of Ballinger. In his later years, he worked for Ingram delivering sand and gravel.

Above all else, Charles treasured his family. He especially loved spending time with his granddaughters, joking with them, teasing them, and always giving them a run for their money. He was such a very proud Pops/Papa.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, of 40 years, Sherry Gail (Leverett) Cartwright; and his parents, Harold Herbert Cartwright and Dorothy Minnie (Hanisko) Cartwright.

Charles is survived by his children, Charles Edward Cartwright, Jr and wife, Traci; Beverly Dawn Sherman and husband, Jeremy; Matthew Allen Cartwright; and Kimberly Elizabeth Cartwright. He also leaves behind his cherished granddaughters, Ryleigh, Chloe, Ryen and Natalie. He was a father figure to his children's friends, who he referred to as “The Kool-Aid kids”. He also leaves behind many numerous extended family members, including one of his best friends, John Braly and friends.

Charles was very loved by those who knew him. He never came across a stranger. He will be deeply missed.

A casual gathering to celebrate and honor Charles' life will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, July 26, 2026, at the Veterans Memorial on the Ballinger Courthouse lawn. Family and friends are invited to come together to share memories and celebrate a life well lived. An official memorial service will be held this fall, with details to be announced at a later date.

Cecilia Rios Fuentes

Cecilia Rios Fuentes, 56, of Ballinger, Texas, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Monday, July 20, 2026.

She was born on Friday, August 1, 1969, to Isabel Gomez and Refujia Parra (Rios) Fuentes in Ballinger, Texas. Cecilia was a kind and gentle soul, soft-spoken, but had a smile that could light up a room. Even though she struggled with health issues, she trusted in the Lord and fought a good fight. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rowena, Texas.

Cecilia worked at Ge**er, Taylor's, and Tres Amigos for many years. She took great pride in her work and remained dedicated until her health gradually declined, forcing her to retire due to medical issues.

Above all, Cecilia was a loving sister and an extraordinary aunt. She was always there for her nieces and nephews, never hesitating to babysit, lend a helping hand, or offer her unwavering love and support. She loved each of them unconditionally and cherished every moment spent with them. They lovingly knew her as "YaYa," a name that will forever hold a special place in their hearts. Being surrounded by her nieces and nephews brought Cecilia her greatest joy.

Cecilia was preceded in death by her parents, Isabel and Refujia Fuentes; and her grandparents, Isabel Fuentes Sr. and Enedina Fuentes.

She is survived by her brothers, Martin Fuentes (Christy), Mario Fuentes, Francisco Fuentes and Robert Fuentes; her sister, Monica Fuentes; her nieces, Kaitlyn Joyce, Ashlanne Fuentes, and Abby Fuentes; and her nephews, Andrew Fuentes, Samuel Fuentes, and Aiden Fuentes.

A rosary for Cecilia will be held on Monday, July 27, 2026, at 9:30 am at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Olfen, Texas. Her Mass of Christian Burial will follow immediately after, with Father Ariel Lagunilla celebrating.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of your choice in Cecilia’s honor.

Martha Beimer

Martha Beimer, 78, of Ballinger, Texas, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 20, 2026, in Abilene, Texas.

Martha was born on February 7, 1948, in Coleman, Texas, to Harlon H. "Shorty" Wilson and Lucy Laura Casey. She was a woman of unwavering faith who loved the Lord with all her heart and lived each day with gratitude. Her favorite saying, "God is good, and I am blessed," was more than a quote; it was the way she lived her life.

Gifted with remarkable creativity, Martha had a true artist's soul. She found joy in sewing, quilting, painting, knitting, and creating beautiful floral arrangements, earning her a Master Florist Degree. A testament to her patience and talent, she even spun her own yarn from wool. Whether she was creating something beautiful with her hands or tending to the people she loved, Martha poured her heart into everything she did.

Martha was a talented florist and a charter member of the Mid-West Texas Florist Association, the West Texas/New Mexico Florist Association, and the Texas State Florist Association. Later, she faithfully served the community as a bank teller at Ballinger National Bank, where her beautiful smile and kind spirit made lasting impressions on countless customers and coworkers alike.

Martha also had a deep appreciation for God's creation. She loved traveling and experiencing the beauty of the world, singing his praises, and spending time with those she loved most. Above all, she treasured her family and the many friendships she cultivated throughout her life.

On September 10, 1966, Martha married the love of her life, Daniel Beimer. Together they built a life centered on faith, family, and love until his passing on November 21, 2009. Though she missed him dearly through the years, Martha continued to live with grace, strength, and an abiding trust in God.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Daniel Beimer; her parents, Harlon "Shorty" Wilson and Lucy Laura Casey Wilson; her brother, Robert "Bobby" Wilson; nephew, Christopher Wilson; and brothers-in-law, Leon and Glen Beimer.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Melissa Wade and husband, Shawn; her son, Anthony Beimer and wife, Jennifer; her granddaughters, Emily Wade-Knox and husband, Brian, Rachel Wade, and Avery Beimer; grandson, Jace Henry Beimer; brother-in-law, Howard Beimer and wife Denise; niece, Elizabeth and husband Dr. Andrew Schaefer; great-nieces Lydia and Lila Schaefer; sister-in-law, Adonna Beimer; and more than sixty beloved cousins; and a garden of treasured friends, whose lives were made brighter by knowing her.

A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 23, 2026, at Lange Funeral Home in Ballinger.

Funeral services will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, July 24, 2026, at Lange Funeral Home with Marty Akins officiating. Interment will follow at Rough Creek Cemetery in Novice, Texas.

Martha's legacy is one of faith, kindness, creativity, and love. She leaves behind not only beautiful paintings, but also countless memories woven into the hearts of her family and friends. Her life was a beautiful reminder that God is indeed good, and she truly was blessed.
