Last Friday, participants in the Adult Medical Day Program had a great time dancing with visiting Dance Therapist Cathy Waugh! They learned that movement is so important to our overall health, and that it takes a lot of balance to perform a pirouette!

Last Wednesday, League Vice President of Human Resources & Compliance Dawn Witherspoon, SPHR, SHRM-SCP graduated from the Dr. Nancy Grasmick Leadership Institute. We are so proud of Dawn for embarking on this journey of personal and professional growth!

"Throughout this program, I laughed, cried, reflected, and connected with an incredible group of women who created a space where vulnerability was welcomed and authenticity was celebrated. It reminded me that leadership is not about having all the answers—it's about showing up as your true self, building meaningful relationships, and learning from the experiences of others. I also learned a powerful lesson that many women need to hear: you can't pour from an empty cup, and setting boundaries is not a weakness but a necessity. I leave this experience inspired by the strength of women and committed to leading with greater authenticity, purpose, and self-compassion."

This Summer, The League is hosting a select group of middle- and high-school students as our "Changemakers" to help us bring fresh perspectives to programming.

From June 23rd-August 21st, students will volunteer for a total of five sessions in programs like Adult Medical Day, create their own capstone project, and build leadership and teamwork skills. Through fun, hands-on activities, The League’s Changemakers will gain real-world experience while making a lasting impact in the community.

If you know of someone who would be a good fit for this enriching opportunity, please have them connect with Kait Wieler, Manager of Community and Employee Engagement, at [email protected].
