Celebrating our 10th year at the Maine Shrine Lobster Bowl! 🏈🦞

Erica and Jared spent last week covering the Maine Shrine Lobster Bowl Training Camp and the 36th annual game at Lewiston High School. It was another incredible week working alongside our friends at MaineGeneral Sports Medicine, all with one shared goal: keeping these athletes healthy and ready to take the field.

A heartfelt thank you to the East football players, coaches, and parents for your trust throughout the week. Your respect, kindness, and willingness to work with us made our job rewarding from day one through kickoff. We were proud to do everything we could to help get you to Saturday.

This week is about so much more than football. It’s about teamwork, service, resilience, and being part of something bigger than ourselves. It’s an honor to care for these athletes and support an event that makes such a meaningful impact on so many lives.

❤️⚡ National CPR & AED Awareness Week ⚡❤️

When every second counts, preparation saves lives.

Athletic trainers are often the first healthcare professionals on the scene during a medical emergency. From practices and games to community events, we are trained to recognize cardiac emergencies, initiate CPR, and utilize an AED when needed.

Sudden cardiac arrest can happen to anyone, regardless of age or fitness level. Having an emergency action plan, accessible AEDs, and individuals trained in CPR can make the difference between life and death.

This week serves as an important reminder to:
✅ Learn hands-only CPR
✅ Know the location of AEDs in your school, workplace, and community
✅ Review emergency action plans regularly
✅ Advocate for access to lifesaving equipment at athletic venues

Today we celebrate heroes behind the scenes—our school nurses. You are so much more than a medical resource. You are a calm presence in chaos, a trusted listener, a problem-solver, and an advocate for every student who walks through your door.

From managing daily care to responding in critical moments, from supporting students’ physical health to quietly carrying their emotional needs—you do it all, every single day. The impact you make often goes unseen, but it is never unfelt. Schools simply don’t run without you.

Thank you for your compassion, your expertise, your patience, and your unwavering dedication to keeping our students safe, healthy, and ready to learn.

From sidelines to stovetops! 🧑‍🍳👩‍🍳

This National Athletic Training Month, our athletic trainers traded in their medical supplies for aprons and recipes as guest chefs at the Ronald McDonald House of Maine. Grateful for the opportunity to give back, serve a meal, and support families staying at RMH.

Being an athletic trainer isn't just about showing up for athletes - it's about showing up for people.
