Parents, do you recall when you accepted a new position at work, perhaps a new job? The anxiety, stresses, uncertainties, feelings of being overwhelmed. We have all gone through this! The benefit is that we are adults! We possess certain coping skills to allow us to navigate through these waters. But what about children? Do they possess the same skills necessary to thrive?

As we have students return to the classroom, this is your reminder to open the doors of communication. Many students struggle with effective communication which leads to the breakdown with peers, authority/education staff, and their education. They do not possess the same life experience as us adults. It is more challenging for them to face anxiety, stresses, and uncertainties. So, what do we do? Have conversations, have engagement! Through effective communication we can guide our future community leaders towards greater success in and out of the classroom.

We all succeed together!

It is that time of year again, when students return to school and transportation services are in full swing. Through the devotion of bus/van drivers our children can arrive and depart safely to and from school. This is only possible with the help of the community!

In 2025, a large majority—roughly 85%—of fatal and serious-injury crashes involving school buses were caused by other motorists rather than the bus drivers themselves. Leading causal factors included distracted driving, failing to yield the right-of-way, and illegally passing stopped school buses with extended stop-arms. The Ohio Highway Patrol data highlighted that outside motorists caused the vast majority of severe incidents, noting hundreds of citations issued specifically for illegally bypassing stopped school buses.

Together we can work with our educational systems and transportation services to offer a safe learning opportunity for our future leaders in the classroom!

Eric is a member of the Peel Regional Police Pipe Band, Toronto, ON. (Drummer) The organization is comprised of Police and Civilian bagpipe/drumming members. This event is the crown jewel of all Scottish competitions.

Eric is honored to represent his hometown of Canal Fulton, work town of Barberton, United States, Canada, and North America. Eric loves bringing his Scottish pride to all he does at the office, his communities, and the competition field. Please help us wish Eric and the Peel Regional Police Pipe Band luck as they face fierce competition in Scotland!

For a moment, place your views, public opinions, politics, or whatever else is happening aside and unite over compassion and heartbreak for the City of Rittman and the unnecessary loss of life.

At People Check we assist many First Responders from Police/Fire. None of them at time of hire assume these types of heinous outcomes. But they are very real, they are very possible, as these folks place themselves in the direct line of safety in order to allow life balance and security to us all. This is the price for these items.

Our hearts go out to family, friends, communities that have been directly or indirectly impacted by this loss. Please remember these moments, and allow them to grant us a moment of clarity and a time of reflection. We value and appreciate these, and all First Responders!
