Did you know?

School bus drivers, school van transportation drivers, undergo a yearly physical known as a T-8 Physical to assure they are safe and healthy to transport those in the education system. They fall under the guidelines of the State of Ohio and DOT. (Dept. of Transportation)

At times these are school covered, while others are “self-pay” services. When it comes to the safety of our children, we need to allow these folks to be taken care of timely, while placing their health at the top of the list!

People Check was able to offer help, guidance, and resources to Akron University -Nursing Program students during orientation day on Main Campus. During the year, approximately over 400 students are working towards a nursing degree/career at Akron University.

What is a coach?

The definition as follows:
A coach is a person who instructs, trains, and motivates individuals or teams to improve performance, achieve specific goals, or master skills.

While this may be the very definition of a coach, we all know there is so much more here. A coach teaches our young athletes how to respect themselves, and others. A coach teaches our young athletes’ personal accountability. A coach teaches our young athletes how to respect authority. A coach simply teaches our young athletes how to navigate through life. It may be done through the means of a ball, a field, an exercise room, but nonetheless they are teaching! THANK YOU, to all coaches out there who give your time to mentor/guide, which enables young athletes to find greater success in life, on and off the field.

Many participate in fingerprint driven background searches mandated by Ohio Revised Code, and others participate through additional background requirements set by athletic programs.
