❌ Myth: Depression is just sadness.
âś… Fact: Depression is a medical condition that can affect how a person thinks, feels, and functions in daily life.

During Depression Awareness Month, we join organizations across the country in helping raise awareness and reduce stigma surrounding mental health conditions. Depression can impact people from all walks of life, and symptoms may extend beyond sadness to include changes in energy, concentration, sleep, and overall well-being.

Seeking support is not a sign of weakness. It is a step toward healing. If you or someone you care about is struggling, know that help is available and recovery is possible.

Today is World Mental Health Day, a reminder that mental health matters every day.
If left unchecked, stress can show up in real ways: headaches, trouble sleeping, irritability, trouble concentrating, or pulling away from the people you love.

The good news is that small, consistent steps can make a difference:
âś… Notice the signs: physical tension, mood changes, and fatigue are often the first clues something needs attention.
âś… Practice mindfulness: even a few quiet minutes a day can help reset.
âś… Lean on your support system: connection matters more than we realize.
âś… Know when to reach out: asking for help is a sign of strength, not weakness.
Take a moment today to check in with yourself and the people around you.

This week is Mental Illness Awareness Week, a national effort, established by Congress in 1990 thanks to the National Alliance on Mental Illness's advocacy, dedicated to raising awareness and fighting stigma around mental illness.

Mental health affects everyone. While 1 in 5 U.S. adults experiences a mental health condition each year, the impact reaches far beyond just the individual. It touches friends, family, coworkers, and everyone who supports them.

Mental health is something we all experience, manage, and need support with at different points in our lives. No one should have to face these challenges alone.

If you or a loved one is struggling, help is available.
