A visit to a loved one in memory care does not have to be long to be meaningful. Sometimes the most powerful thing is simply showing up and being present. π
Families play a genuinely important role in the wellbeing of memory care residents. Sharing a meal together, joining in a music session, looking through old photographs, or simply sitting quietly side by side. These moments remind a resident that they are loved, known, and not forgotten.
If you are unsure how to spend time with a loved one in memory care, the care team is always a wonderful resource. They know what activities bring comfort, what time of day tends to be most settled, and how to help visits feel easier for everyone. You do not need to have a plan. Just being there is enough.
