A U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission review found injuries related to this type of transportation increased an average of 23 percent from 2017 to 2022, contributing to an estimated 360,800 emergency department visits and 233 deaths.
As e-bikes and e-scooters become more common, simple steps like wearing a helmet, riding at a safe speed, staying alert, and sharing the road can help prevent injuries before they happen.
