It’s easy to forget that closeness isn’t a given — it’s a practice.
The small moments of checking in, softening, listening, repairing… those are the seeds.
And like anything living, connection needs attention, warmth, and care to thrive.

When we tend to what matters, it grows.
When we assume it will take care of itself, it withers.

Tend to what you want to grow.
Your relationship will feel the difference.

If you and your partner feel like you’re always running out of time in therapy — or in your conversations at home — extended sessions can create the breathing room you’ve been missing.
I offer extended couples therapy sessions (90–180 minutes)- a slower, more spacious format that allows you to actually stay in the conversation beyond the traditional therapy hour.
Conflicting schedules, dual residences, business travel - could be real barriers to tending to what needs attention.
If you’re curious whether this format might help your relationship, I’m happy to talk with you about what you’re navigating and what kind of support would fit best. Reach out when you’re ready.

I’ve been thinking about how often our inner lives move at a different pace than the world around us. We expect ourselves to bloom on command, to “get over it,” to be ready before we’re ready. But growth rarely works that way. Like wildflowers, we open in our own time.

Maybe you’re in a season of rebuilding. Maybe you’re tending to old roots. Maybe you’re learning to trust yourself again. Whatever season you’re in, it deserves gentleness, not pressure.

This month, I invite you to notice the places where you’ve been rushing yourself — and to soften there. To let your healing take the shape it needs. To honor the quiet work happening beneath the surface.

“We’re arguing more lately… does that mean something’s wrong with us?”

Not necessarily. Conflict often means something wants to grow between you.

The key isn’t avoiding conflict—it’s how you repair.

Can you stay curious instead of reactive?
Can you name your needs without blaming?

Every repair is a chance to strengthen your connection. You’re not broken—you’re becoming.

How’s your heart today?
No fixing. No analyzing. Just noticing.

Is it tired?
Is it holding something quiet?
Is it feeling hopeful?

Whatever’s there, it’s welcome here.

There’s nothing wrong with you. There are only parts of you that need to be seen, heard, and welcomed back home.

What part of you might just need a little more compassion today?

Back-to-school feelings are real. Not every family greets back-to-school season with smiles and fresh notebooks.

Some kids (and parents) carry: social anxiety, sensory overwhelm, unspoken grief about growing up, hope... tangled up with fear. It’s okay to have mixed emotions.

Be gentle with yourself and the children in your life. Connection matters more than perfection. A soft “I’m with you in this” can be more powerful than any perfectly packed lunch or planner.

You’re allowed to slow down. You’re allowed to cry in the car. You’re allowed to not have a perfect routine yet. You’re doing beautifully, even in the mess.

Speaking your truth might feel unfamiliar to others—but that doesn’t make it wrong. It makes it brave.
Healing sometimes means learning to sit with the discomfort of being misunderstood.

What truth are you ready to honor, even if it makes others uncomfortable?

Sometimes, the most powerful relationship repair begins with one small sentence:
“Can we try that again?”

You don’t need to get it perfect. Just being willing to reconnect shifts everything.
