A huge THANK YOU to Cati Mitchell and Roscoe B. Moore for generously donating their time, talent, and services to provide haircuts for our participants at The Ability Center this morning!

Acts of kindness like yours make a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve. Not only do fresh haircuts help our participants look their best, but they also boost confidence, self-esteem, and pride. And of course it is a huge bonus when the volunteers are as much fun and enjoy talking with our participants as these two are and do!

We are so grateful for community members who support our mission and help our participants shine. Thank you, Cati and Roscoe, for sharing your gifts and your hearts with TAC! 💜🧡💛

🍳🌞 Learning, Cooking & Growing Together at The Ability Center! 🌞🍳

Some of the best learning happens when we step outside the traditional books and teaching, and into real-life experiences!

Through group cook and spending time outdoors, our participants build valuable skills that support greater independence and confidence.

Group cook helps participants practice following directions, measuring ingredients, food safety, teamwork, communication, and decision-making.

Outdoor activities like we did yesterday at the park encourage physical activity, social interaction, sensory exploration, problem-solving, and an appreciation for the world around us.

Most importantly, both activities create opportunities for friendships, laughter, and success while learning practical life skills in a fun and engaging way.

At TAC, we believe growth happens through hands-on experiences and every day is an opportunity to learn something new! 💜🧡💛

Snack Abilities, TAC's very own concession stand opened yesterday, and it was a rewarding experience from start to finish!

Our participants had the opportunity to practice and strengthen so many important life skills, including ordering, handling money, filling orders, communicating with customers, and using appropriate social skills and manners. Most importantly, they got to experience the pride that comes from meaningful work and serving others.
Seeing their confidence grow with each interaction reminded us exactly why opportunities like this matter. We are so proud of everyone who helped make Snack Abilities a success today. 💜🧡💛

✨ A New Week = New Adventures at TAC! ✨

We're kicking off another exciting week full of learning, fun, and opportunities to build independence!

🛒 Group Shopping Day – practicing budgeting, decision-making, and community skills.
👨‍🍳 Group Cook – working together to prepare a delicious meal of breakfast burritos while building kitchen confidence and teamwork.
✂️ Roscoe and Cati will be joining us on Thursday to provide haircuts for those who want a new 'do.

Every day brings new chances to learn, grow, and create memories with friends. We can't wait to see what this week has in store! 💜🧡💛

June will bring group cooks, our Splash Into Summer Water Fun Day, several outings and much more!

Unless a participant won't eat baked potatoes, they will not need to bring a lunch.
