Why does your brain seem to get quieter the moment you get on your horse?

For riders with ADHD, the saddle can sometimes feel like the one place where everything suddenly clicks.

The to-do lists. The unfinished thoughts. The constant mental noise.

Gone.

And while horseback riding isn't a cure for ADHD or a substitute for clinical treatment, researchers are beginning to explore why movement, sensory input, focus and the human-horse connection may help explain what so many riders have experienced for years.

Riding requires you to be present.

You have to notice your horse's movement. Adjust your balance. Respond to subtle changes. Make decisions in real time.

Your brain can't be everywhere else when you're communicating with a 1,000-pound animal.

Maybe that's part of the magic of the saddle.

Equestrians: Do you have ADHD, or have you noticed that riding seems to quiet your mind and improve your focus?

Tell us in the comments what you experience when you ride. If you'd like to read the full article, comment below so we can connect!

Here A Broken Spur Riding Academy we would like to take the time to honor the life of a woman so many of us as humans and as nonprofits aspire to be like. She was one of a kind and a breed that cant be replicated! We kind of feel this woman's loss locally.

The world mourns the loss of a true global treasure. Beyond her timeless music and sharp wit, Dolly Parton lived a life grounded in deep love for her roots, the land, and the people around her.
Here is a social media tribute crafted to honor her incredible legacy:

🕊️ Celebrating a Life Lived in Full Color: Rest in Peace, Dolly Parton 🕊️

Today, the world feels a little less bright, but the heavens are certainly ringing with a familiar, joyous song. We send our deepest condolences, prayers, and love to Dolly’s family, friends, and the millions of fans grieving this tremendous loss.
Dolly was so much more than a country music icon. She was a true force of nature who never forgot where she came from:

🌾 A True Mountain Girl & Farmer’s Heart: From humble beginnings in the Great Smoky Mountains, Dolly remained a farm girl at heart. She cherished the land, lived with a deep respect for simple living, and celebrated the rustic, grounded spirit of Appalachia throughout her whole life.

🐎 A Lifelong Horse Lover: Her passion for horses and rural heritage wasn't just a pastime—it was a core part of who she was. She celebrated that passion on a grand scale by creating the beloved Dolly Parton's Stampede, bringing families together to honor equestrian tradition, storytelling, and Southern hospitality.

🎡 A Visionary Creator: With the creation of Dollywood, she built more than an amusement park—she built a sanctuary that brought economic hope, pride, and joy to her East Tennessee home, employing thousands and welcoming millions with open arms.

📚 A Champion for Children & Literacy: Through her Imagination Library, Dolly mailed over 200 million free books to children and even adults worldwide. She believed every child deserved to dream, learn, and read, leaving behind a legacy of literacy that changed generations.
Dolly showed us what it meant to lead with love, give back endlessly, and live life unapologetically as yourself. Her music will play on, her kindness will keep inspiring, and her memory will live in our hearts forever.
Rest well, Dolly. Thank you for the light, the laughter, and the love. 🤍✨

🩷🐎Everyone! Meet our newest herd member!
"ECHO"

Echo is a 5 year old quarter horse mare! She is absleloutly just a very loving in your pocket girl! She loves scratches, treats and loves attention both on the ground and off! Yesterday before we turned her out we gave everyone a chance to get to know her from the arena first! The whole herd accepted her pretty easy.. Envy kind of stands her ground as head mare but asides from that we are welcoming her! 🩷🐎
