We are qualified to assess both the mental and physical aspects of psychological disturbance. Mental disturbances refers to a wide range of mental health conditions — disorders that affect your mood, thinking a

nd behavior. Examples of mental illness include depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, eating disorders and addictive behaviors. Many people have mental health concerns from time to time. But a mental health concern becomes a mental illness when ongoing signs and symptoms cause frequent stress and affect your ability to function. Mental disturbances can make one miserable and can cause problems in one’s daily life, such as at work or in relationships. In most cases, symptoms can be managed with a combination of medications and counseling (psychotherapy). People seek psychiatric help for many reasons. The problems can be sudden such as a panic attack, or frightening hallucinations, thoughts of su***de, or hearing "voices." Or they may be more long-term, such as feelings of sadness and hopelessness or anxious feelings that never seem to lift, causing everyday life to feel distorted or out of control.

Forgiveness does not mean what they did was okay.

It doesn’t require forgetting, reconnecting, or giving someone access to you again.
Sometimes, forgiveness simply means refusing to let their actions keep living inside your mind.
You can release the pain and still keep the boundary. 💙

Psychotic depression is a serious mental health condition where major depression occurs alongside symptoms of psychosis, such as hallucinations or delusions. Unlike typical depression, these symptoms can affect how a person experiences reality and may require specialized psychiatric care.

Recognizing the warning signs such as persistent sadness, loss of interest, feelings of worthlessness, unusual beliefs, or hearing/seeing things others do not—can be an important first step toward getting support.
At Mid Cities Psychiatry, our mental health professionals provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and personalized treatment plans to help individuals understand their symptoms and explore appropriate care options.

Relaxation isn’t about doing nothing. It’s about giving your mind and body a chance to slow down and recover.
This National Relaxation Day, choose one small way to create a little more calm in your day. Step outside, silence your notifications, take a few slow breaths, or spend a few minutes doing something that genuinely helps you feel at ease.
You don’t have to earn rest. Making space to pause is part of taking care of your mental well-being.

How will you slow down today?

Your past may explain why you learned to protect yourself, struggle to trust, or expect the worst but it does not define who you are or who you can become.

Healing means understanding your story without allowing it to control every chapter ahead.

You can unlearn old patterns.
You can choose differently.
You can begin again.
Your past is part of your story; not the end of it.
