Not all nosebleeds are created equal. 👃🏽

One week post-op alarplasty check-in 👃🏽✨

She's been doing everything right, cleaning, sunscreen, protecting those incisions, and it shows. The nostrils are looking refined, the healing is clean, and we are officially halfway through the most critical window.

Two weeks of being "paranoid" (yes, I use that word on purpose) is what separates a beautiful result from a compromised one. One more week, then we transition to nightly silicone gel massages and she is in the end zone. 🙌

Nosebleeds are scary in the moment, but most people make them last longer by doing this one thing wrong. 👃🏽🩸

Here's exactly what Dr. Janjua wants you to do:

Form a tight clothespin with two fingers and your thumb. Grab the entire soft lower half of your nose, pinching the bony top or the tip won't stop anything.

Squeeze hard enough to feel real discomfort. That discomfort means you've got the right grip.

Then hold it. 5 to 10 minutes, uninterrupted. No tilting your head back. No peeking. Switch hands if you need to, but don't let go.

🚨 Heavy, uncontrolled bleeding or blood going down your throat = call 911. That's not a home-remedy situation.
