JOSHUA ODLE OBITUARY

BORN: SEPTEMBER 14, 1979
DIED: SEPTEMBER 7, 2026
(46 years old)

Joshua was born on September 14,1979 to Jim and Gail (Petersen) Odle. He lived in Crete for a substantial portion of his life. Most recently he resided in Beecher. He was a graduate of Illinois Lutheran High School in Crete.
Josh worked for several companies throughout his life, including Menards, Love’s Travel Stop and Bunge. Wherever he went, he made friends. Anyone who knew Josh knew how much he loved sports. He was an avid Cubs and Bears fan. He also enjoyed music and attending concerts, especially Pearl Jam. A friend to many, Josh will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his brother, Justin Odle of California; his adult son, Kyler Odle and Kyler’s mother Karina both of Michigan, his loving uncle and aunt, Jim and Connie Petersen, of Beecher, cousins Devin and Nicole Petersen of Beecher, his good friend Guy Schultz and his very dear friend Sherri Brock.
He is preceded in death by his mother Gail Schultz of Crete, his father Jim Odle of Alabama, his grandfather John Petersen of Beecher, his grandmother Ruth Neyman of Wisconsin and his grandparents Melvin & Betty Odle of Alabama.

There will be a Celebration of Life at a later date.

Cremation rites have been accorded.

Tawny (nee Holdt) Sippel Lattz
Born July 11, 1947, in Chicago Heights, Illinois, to Norman and Wylma (Crowder) Holdt. She was a lifelong Beecher resident and a 1965 graduate of Beecher High School. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Lukes United Church of Christ and later, as an adult was confirmed in the Lutheran faith, and became a member of Zion Lutheran Church, also attended St. John Lutheran Church. The churches merged becoming Peace Lutheran where she remained a member.
Tawny was a retired banker, having worked for 27 yrs at Farmers State Bank, followed by 14 yrs at First National Bank, Olympia Fields, as bank manager.
She served for 20 yrs on Beecher Board of Education, 16 yrs as secretary, was the fund-raising co-chair of the Beecher Scholarship Association for 20 yrs, was a member of the Beecher Education Foundation, and founding member and secretary of the Beecher Athletic Hall of Fame, board member of the Abby Foundation, serving on the scholarship committee, was a board member and past President of the Mattesson area Chamber of Commerce.
Tawny's happiest moments were spent with family and friends, particularly attending whatever sporting event her granddaughters were participating in at Beecher High School and University of St. Francis. She also attended all Muskie Baseball games, preceded by Beecher High School and USF baseball games.

It is with heavy hearts and deep gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Robert (Bob) Zimmerman, who left this world on September 18, 2026. Bob was born on November 9, 1934, in Grant Park, Illinois, to Charles and Edith Zimmerman. He was as a middle sibling of their seven children, and his years were filled with the love and companionship of Warren, Shirley, Donald, Evelyn, Arlene, and Kenny, all of whom have passed before him.

Bob (Zeke) was a devoted husband to Carol Zimmerman, whom he married on June 25, 1961. Their 65 years together were a testament to enduring love and partnership. He is survived by his wife, Carol, and their sons, Rob (Kathy) Zimmerman and Bradford Zimmerman. Bob took immense pride in his role as a grandfather to Audrianna, Shelbi, Megan, and Libby, and as a great-grandfather to Easton, Rowan, Colson, Scottie, and Landry. His family was the center of his world.

Bob served his country with honor in the United States Army as an SP4 Artillery Specialist from 1955 to 1957 at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. Following his military service, he worked diligently as a forklift operator, providing for his family with dedication and integrity.

An active member of St. Luke's United Church of Christ in Beecher, Bob was a man of faith who lived his beliefs through his actions. He was known for his quick wit and warm smile, often playfully teasing those he loved, true to his affectionate nature. Bob was a tinkerer, always...

Terry Skaggs 68, passed away peacefully on August 31st, 2026. He was born on November 5th, 1957, the son of Harold and Norma Skaggs.

Terry is survived by his daughter Stacey Skaggs (Chris Gornor) of Crete, IL. Sister, Rhonda Rucinski of Schererville. Sisters-in-law Susan Kramer and Pamela Gray, Brother-in-law Kevin (Jane) Gray, and his partner of 2 years, Nancy Niemczak. He also has many nieces and nephews who lovingly referred to him as Uncle Terbear.
In addition to his parents, Terry is preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen Skaggs and his sister,Deborah Peters.

Terry was an avid golfer who taught his daughter all about the game. He was so thrilled when she earned a golf scholarship to college. He loved being in his garage making all kinds of trinkets out of wood. It was his home away from home!

Charles “Chuck” Hoehn, a devoted family man, community stalwart, and Vietnam veteran, passed away on July 28, 2026, at the age of 78. Chuck brought light, laughter and love to all who knew him.
The beloved son of M R and Enid Hoehn, Chuck was raised in a household filled with warmth and integrity. He graduated from Penn High School and went on to further his education with two years of college, which laid the foundation for his future endeavors.
Chuck bravely served his country in the 101st Airborne during the Vietnam war. His service exemplified his courage and unwavering dedication to the values of freedom and duty, characteristics that he carried with him throughout his life.
In October of 1974, Chuck married Pam. Their marriage of 51 years was a testament to deep mutual respect, unwavering commitment, and shared joy. Together they nurtured a family that was the center of their universe. He was a proud and loving father to his sons, Adam, Michael and Nicholas, and a doting grandfather to his two grandsons.
Chuck’s life was a tapestry of community service and camaraderie. He was a pillar in the Beecher community by actively contributing to the betterment of his beloved town. As a long-standing member of the Beecher Lions Club, the Chamber of Commerce and the 4th of July Commission, Chuck’s efforts were instrumental in fostering community spirit.
