As Mental Health Awareness Month comes to a close, the conversation doesn’t have to end here!

Mental health matters every day of the year, and taking care of yourself is an ongoing journey. Whether this month encouraged you to slow down, seek support, check in with loved ones, or prioritize your well-being, every step matters.

Let’s continue breaking the stigma, showing compassion, and reminding others they are never alone. Healing takes time, and support is always worth seeking. 🌿

Mindfulness and grounding techniques can help bring you back to the present moment when stress, anxiety, or overwhelm begin to take over.

Simple practices like deep breathing, noticing what you can see and hear around you, taking a short walk, or focusing on physical sensations can help calm your mind and body. Grounding doesn’t make problems disappear, but it can help you feel more centered and in control during difficult moments.

Give yourself permission to pause, breathe, and reconnect with the present. Small moments of mindfulness can make a meaningful difference over time. 🌿

Myth: “Mental health struggles are a sign of weakness.”
Fact: Mental health challenges can affect anyone, and seeking support takes strength.

Myth: “Therapy is only for people in crisis.”
Fact: Therapy can help with stress, relationships, personal growth, and everyday challenges — not just major crises.

Myth: “You should be able to handle everything on your own.”
Fact: Asking for help and leaning on support is healthy and important.

Breaking the stigma starts with honest conversations and accurate information. Mental health matters, and no one should feel ashamed for seeking support. 🌿

Celebrate the small wins!

Healing, growth, and progress don’t always happen in big, life-changing moments. Sometimes the biggest victories look like getting out of bed, setting a boundary, asking for help, making it through a hard day, or simply taking a deep breath and trying again.

Small steps still matter, and progress is still progress even when it feels slow.

Every step toward healing deserves to be acknowledged. 🌿

Failure isn’t the end of the story. Sometimes, it’s the part that teaches us how to keep going.

In this clip from The Stories We Tell Ourselves, we talk about giving yourself permission to fail along the way, without letting that failure define who you are or where you’re headed.

Growth rarely happens perfectly. Healing doesn’t either. And that’s okay.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month! Your mental health matters just as much as your physical health. 💚

Life can feel overwhelming at times, but you don’t have to navigate it alone. Taking care of your mental health can look like setting boundaries, talking with someone you trust, practicing self-care, or reaching out for professional support when needed.

Healing isn’t always linear, and asking for help is a sign of strength, not weakness. This month, let’s continue breaking the stigma around mental health and encourage open, compassionate conversations.

You are worthy of support, hope, and healing!

Episode 2 of our "Mental Health Conversations" podcast is now available on all major podcast channels.

In this episode we explore the powerful role of the stories we tell ourselves—and how they shape our thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. From early life experiences to present-day challenges, these internal narratives often influence how we see ourselves and the world around us.

We discuss how unhelpful or distorted stories can quietly hold us back, and how increasing awareness can open the door to change. You’ll hear practical insights on how to recognize these patterns, challenge them, and begin rewriting a more balanced, compassionate story that supports growth and resilience.

Nothing says Mother’s Day like baseball trivia at Oriole Park at Camden Yards ⚾️😂

We asked moms some “easy” Orioles and baseball questions during the game… the answers were all over the place, but the energy was elite.

Happy Mother's Day from Safe Harbor!
