Mary Jean Fields

Mary Jean Fields, 89, of Turkey Creek, KY, passed away Thursday May 28, 2026, at the Eastern Star Nursing Home of Louisville, KY. Mary was born October 5, 1936, at Turkey Creek, KY, to the late Luther Staten and Cora Woods Staten. Mary is preceded in death by her husband, George Thomas "Sammy" Fields. In her early years, Mary worked at the ARH PT, and cafeteria, and was a homemaker.

Mary is survived by her children, George Michael (Susan) Fields, and Rhonda Lynn (Alfred) Crigger, her grandchildren, Candace Michele (Jeremy) Diamond, Corey Lee (Brooke) Crigger and Michael Thomas (Taryn) Fields. Mary is also survived by her great grandchildren, Samuel Thomas Fields, Luke Diamond, Caleb Diamond, Annie Crigger, Delilah Crigger, Cora Crigger, and Millie Crigger, her lifelong friend, Danny White and a host of loving family and friends.

The visitation for Mary will be Saturday May 30, 2026, from 6 - 9 PM at R. E. Rogers Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 2:30 PM Sunday, May 31, 2026, at R. E. Rogers Funeral Home with Geoff Tackett officiating. The burial will follow at the Family Cemetery, Falls Branch, KY, with Luke Diamond, Caleb Diamond, Jeremy Diamond, Corey Crigger, Alfred Crigger, and Michael Fields serving as pallbearers. R. E. Carla Morrison Adams

Carla Morrison Adams, 70, of Belfry, KY, passed away on Wednesday, May, 27, 2026 at the Highlands Regional Hospital. Carla was born on December 7, 1955 is South Williamson, KY, the daughter of the late Phillip Graham Morrison, and Estelle Gilbert Morrison. Carla was also preceded in death by her son, Brandon Adams and her siblings, Phyllis Jean Morrison, Laren Morrison and Michael Morrison.

Carla was a 1973 graduate of Belfry High School and attended Southern College after graduation. She worked for many years as a claims adjuster, most recently with Geico Insurance company. Carla was loving sister who very much loved and enjoyed being a mother.

Carla is survived by her sisters, Joan (Gary) Kennedy of Gaithersburg, MD, Gay Nell Pacific of Belfry, KY, Sheryl (Rexford) Layne of Freeburn, KY; her brother, Keanan W. Morrison of Belfry, KY and her grandson, Camdon Adams. Carla also leaves behind a host of other loving family members and friends.

Donna Kay Francis

Donna Kay Francis, 60, of Pinsonfork, KY passed away on Sunday, May 24, 2026, at her residence. Donna was born on November 18, 1965, in Williamson, WV, the daughter of the late George Hinkle and Dathel Smith Hinkle. Donna was also preceded in death by her brother, Todd Hinkle. Donna worked as a customer service representative for Appalachian Wireless for many years and served the Belfry Area Little League. Primarily though, Donna was a homemaker, taking care of her family and children especially her grandchildren, whom she loved dearly.

Donna is survived by her loving husband, Timmy Francis; her sons, Zack (Andrea) Francis of Georgetown, KY, Macky (Allie) Francis of Clay City, KY and Nick (Hannah) Francis of Cynthiana, KY; her grandchildren, Raeleigh, Jaxton, Mackenzie, Judson, Jett and Anzley; her special friend, Mary Varney of McVeigh, KY and a host of nieces and nephews who she loved dearly.

Funeral services for Donna will be held on Thursday, May 28, 2026, beginning at 1 PM at R.E. Rogers Funeral Home, with Freddie Lewis officiating. Burial will follow at the Smith Cemetery at Rockhouse in Sidney, KY. Donna’s family and friends will serve as pallbearers. David Lawrence Jones

David Lawrence Jones, 68, of Kermit, TX, and Sidney,KY passed away Friday, May 22, 2026 at his residence. David was born on September 9, 1957 at Kermit, TX to Edith Thacker Jones of Kermit, TX, and the late Johnny Lawrence Jones. David is also preceded in death by his brother, Sonny Jones, his father-in-law, Wayne Blackburn and his sister-in-law, Waynetta Carroll. David worked for many years a gas-field mechanic. David was an avid outdoorsman loving hunting, fishing, shooting, riding his Cam Am, and the Denver Broncos.

Including his mother, David is survived by his loving wife, Karen Blackburn Jones of Sidney, KY, his children, Camille (Shannon) Slash of Huntington, WV, and Wayne Edward Kline of North Woodbury, OH, grandchildren, Deztinee Kline, great granddaughter, Maryx Kline, his mother-in-law, Fay W. Blackburn of Sidney, KY, and his brother, Michael L. (Mabel) Jones of Midland, TX. David is also survived by his niece, who is like a daughter, Tenille Carroll, his nieces, Erica (Brandon) O'Field, and Lindsey Jones, brother-in-law, Thomas Carroll, great nieces and nephews, Keegan Carroll, Parker Carroll and Olivia O'Field, his good friends, Robert Eubank, Billy Elliott, Blan Cutwright, and Johnny Walker, and a host of loving family and friends.

The visitation will be held from 6 - 9 PM Monday May 25, 2026 at R. E. Rogers Funeral Home with special services at 7 PM with Old Regular Baptist Ministers officiating. The funeral service will be conducted at 11 AM Tuesday, May 26, 2026 at the Dix Fork Old Regular Baptist Church, with the Old Regular Baptist Ministers officiating. Burial will follow at the Blackburn Family cemetery in Dix Fork, KY. Gregg Clark Jr., Roger Blackburn, Woody Larder, Phillip Varney, Eli Mullins and Ishmael Mullins will serve as pallbearers. Wilma Jean Dick

Wilma Jean Dick, 66, of Pinson Fork, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on May 6, 2026. She was born on May 3, 1960, in Casey County, Kentucky, to the late Buddy Gene Dick and Orena Mae Vaught. Wilma was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, partner, and friend whose kindness and love touched everyone who knew her. After several years of working at Kellogg’s factory in Kimper, Kentucky, she dedicated her life to being a homemaker and caring for the people she loved most. She treasured her family above all else and found her greatest joy in spending time with them, especially her beloved grandchildren, who lovingly knew her as "Nana." Her gentle spirit, caring heart, and unwavering love will forever be remembered by those blessed to know her.

She leaves behind her loving partner, Rodney Justice of Pinsonfork, Kentucky; her daughter, Amanda (Jody) Johnson of Virgie, Kentucky; her son, David Lee (Karen) Charles of Dallas, Texas; her cherished grandchildren, Braxton Johnson, Bryson Johnson, Franceska Charles-Lugo, and Aleksandra Charles-Lugo; and her beloved dog, Levi, who was always by her side and brought her comfort and companionship. She is also survived by her sister, Schella Grider of Nicholasville, Kentucky; her brother, Rodney (Susan) Dick of Unionville, Tennessee; along with several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews whom she loved dearly. Though our family's hearts are heavy with grief, we find comfort in the love, memories, and laughter she leaves behind. Wilma's presence will be deeply missed, but her love will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Jeffrey Dale Nelson, 49, of Turkey Creek, KY, passed away Monday May 4, 2026, at his residence. Jeffrey was born February 11, 1977, at South Williamson, KY, to Johnny and Joyce Deskins Nelson of Turkey Creek, KY. Jeffrey was formerly an EMT for Appalachian First Response..

Besides his parents, Jeffrey is survived by his siblings, Chris (Susan) Nelson of Oak Ridge, TN, and James "Boo" (Velva) Nelson of Turkey Creek, KY, his uncle, Bobby Nelson, his aunt, Carol Pruitt, and a host of loving family and friends.
