AUGUST ATHLETE OF THE MONTH 🔥 Lila🔥

History of injury and diagnosis?
My eighth grade year I was diagnosed with jumpers knee and told to just rest it and it would get better. My freshman year of volleyball and track I got diagnosed with hip dysplasia and recommended for surgery, but it was a 10 month recovery so I opted to do physical therapy instead

What advice do you have for a student-athlete who has a similar injury?
Don’t listen to people when they say that if you’re a female athlete you’re destined to have hip problems and to just “let it be” and there’s nothing you can do. Also always take the conservative route and try not to jump to surgery if you don’t need to (especially if you’ll miss out on the sports you love)

What is your favorite part of physical therapy?
Seeing my progress and stability grow while I get back to doing my sports and also getting to laugh with Sydney and Julie!

What is your favorite part of physical therapy and why?
Top my 10 kills a game this season for volleyball and qualify for state in high jump or javelin for track
