💉 Botox® is one of the five most commonly used cosmetic neurotoxins available today—and for good reason.

By temporarily reducing the activity of specific facial muscles, Botox helps decrease the repetitive skin folding that creates wrinkles during facial expression. The result? Smoother skin and a more refreshed appearance.

A few key facts:
✅ Treatment is temporary, typically lasting 3–5 months
✅ Once injected, the effects are not reversible and gradually wear off with time
✅ Smaller doses can create subtle, natural-looking improvements
✅ Larger doses provide more powerful wrinkle reduction and muscle relaxation

The goal isn’t to look different—it’s to look like the best version of yourself. The right treatment plan depends on your anatomy, goals, and personal preferences.

Weekend recharge in Dallas, Texas! 🤠

Even surgeons need a little time away from the operating room. This weekend took me to the legendary Terry Black’s Barbecue—where patience, craftsmanship, and attention to detail are on full display. Whether it’s plastic surgery or Texas barbecue, exceptional results come from experience, discipline, and a commitment to doing things the right way.

Good food, great company, and a reminder that mastery is built one day at a time.

Now it’s back to Bellevue and back to taking care of patients at Pacific Sound Plastic Surgery.

Great surgeons never stop learning. Great teachers never stop improving how they teach.

This week I had the privilege of participating in the AO North America Faculty Education Program—an intensive course focused not on surgery itself, but on how to better educate the next generation of surgeons.

Technical skill is only part of the equation. The ability to communicate complex concepts, provide meaningful feedback, foster critical thinking, and develop future leaders is what advances our specialty and ultimately benefits our patients.

Medicine is a lifelong commitment to learning, teaching, and continuous improvement. Every lesson shared today has the potential to impact countless patients tomorrow.

At Pacific Sound Plastic Surgery, that commitment to excellence extends beyond the operating room.

If you’re looking for care from a surgeon dedicated to lifelong education, evidence-based medicine, and advancing the field, we’d love to meet you.

Most people never see what happens behind the scenes of board certification in Plastic Surgery.

In addition to caring for patients, Dr. Kristopher Day serves by helping write examination questions for the next generation of plastic surgeons through the national board examination process.

Writing board exam questions isn’t simply recalling facts—it requires deep thought, careful analysis, and a thorough understanding of both the science and art of Plastic Surgery. Every question must be accurate, relevant, fair, and designed to evaluate the knowledge and judgment expected of future board-certified surgeons.

It’s also an incredible privilege to collaborate with some of the most accomplished, experienced, and talented plastic surgeons in the country. Together, they help uphold the standards that define excellence in our specialty.

Teaching, mentoring, examining, and advancing the profession are responsibilities Dr. Day takes seriously—because today’s training shapes tomorrow’s patient care.

Excellence doesn’t happen by accident. It is built through education, experience, and a commitment to lifelong learning.

✨ Plastic Surgery Isn’t Always About Glitz & Glamour ✨

Sometimes social media makes plastic surgery look like luxury, vanity, or celebrity culture.

But for most people? It’s much simpler — and much more human.

It’s the mom who wants her body to feel more like herself again after kids.
It’s the person bothered by a feature that affects confidence every single day.
It’s the patient who wants to look less tired, feel stronger, breathe better, or simply feel more comfortable in their own skin.

At its best, plastic surgery isn’t about perfection.

It’s about living your fullest life.

Wanting to optimize yourself isn’t shallow. It isn’t evil. It’s empowering.

We improve our health, careers, homes, fitness, education, relationships — so why is it wrong to invest in ourselves physically if it helps us feel more confident and aligned with who we are?

The truth is: it’s okay to want to better yourself.

We’re all out here trying to be our best — and there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that.

If something has been bothering you, it’s okay to explore your options. Education first, pressure never.

“Tired eyes” aren’t always about being tired. 👁️

One of the most common concerns we see is heaviness or hooding of the upper eyelids — making patients look fatigued, older, or less refreshed than they actually feel.

An upper blepharoplasty (eyelid lift) is designed to restore a more rested, natural appearance by carefully addressing excess upper eyelid skin and, when appropriate, fullness around the upper lid. The goal isn’t to make you look “different” — it’s to help you look like a more refreshed version of yourself.

In this image, we’re breaking down some of the key anatomy and landmarks we evaluate during surgical planning:
✔️ Brow position
✔️ Natural eyelid crease (supratarsal fold)
✔️ Pretarsal show and lash line
✔️ Upper lid skin redundancy (“hooding”)
✔️ Orbital anatomy and surgical design

As with all plastic surgery, success comes from thoughtful anatomy, precision, and individualized planning — not a one-size-fits-all approach.

Curious if upper blepharoplasty may be right for you? Schedule a consultation to discuss your anatomy, goals, and options.

🥍 Washington Cup Weekend = powered by WHAT exactly?! 🤯

Luke Day somehow played up to 6 games a day… for TWO teams 😳

✔️ Middie
✔️ Forward
✔️ Goalie
✔️ Somehow never tired?!

At this point, I’m convinced there’s either:
1️⃣ a secret energy source I don’t know about, or
2️⃣ kids are simply built different 😂

Meanwhile, the adults are looking for a chair, ibuprofen, and coffee after watching.

Seriously though — proud of this kid for the hustle, versatility, and love of the game. Hard work, team spirit, and showing up wherever the team needs you. 🥍💪

Question for parents: Where exactly can one buy this kind of energy?! Asking for a friend… 😆

📱 Social Media Wellness ≠ Medical Truth

We live in an era where wellness influencers, viral trends, and “experts” online are everywhere.

Some share helpful ideas. Many mean well.

But here’s the reality: likes, followers, and confidence do not equal medical expertise.

When it comes to your health, surgery, skin, hormones, recovery, medications, or aesthetic treatments, be careful about taking advice from people whose qualifications begin and end with a ring light and an affiliate link.

Medicine is complicated. Human biology is complicated.

The truth is often nuanced, evidence-based, and individualized — not a 30-second viral sound bite.

That doesn’t mean social media is useless. It means it should be a starting point for curiosity — not the final authority on your health decisions.

Before making decisions about your body, ask:

✔️ Is this person actually trained in this field?
✔️ Are they board certified or appropriately credentialed?
✔️ Is this evidence-based?
✔️ Would I trust them with my own care in real life?

Your health deserves more than trends.

Listen to board-certified providers, ask questions, and make informed decisions based on science, training, and experience.

Healing after surgery isn’t built on sugar spikes — it’s built on protein. 💪

Protein is the body’s essential macromolecule for recovery, helping rebuild tissue, support collagen formation, maintain immune function, and optimize wound healing after surgery. While sugar may provide quick energy, excess sugar can contribute to inflammation and does little to help your body repair itself.

After procedures like tummy tucks, breast surgery, liposuction, or body contouring, prioritizing lean protein intake is one of the simplest ways to support a smoother recovery and better outcomes.

🥩 Think:
• Lean meats
• Eggs
• Fish
• Greek yogurt
• Protein shakes
• Beans & legumes

Your body does the healing — we help give it the tools to succeed.

“Good judgment comes from experience. And experience? That often comes from bad judgment.”

In Plastic Surgery, experience matters. ✨

When it comes to your face, body, and health, there’s value in choosing a surgeon who has spent years training, operating, managing complexity, and developing the judgment that only comes with real-world experience. Great outcomes aren’t just about technical skill — they’re about knowing what to do, what not to do, and how to guide patients safely from consultation to recovery.

At Pacific Sound Plastic Surgery, we believe wisdom, experience, and thoughtful decision-making matter. Choose experience. Choose expertise. Choose a surgeon who can care for you every step of the way.
