As we all return to a familiar rhythm with school starting again, we wanted to send out a reminder about our availability. At Willow Counseling Collective, we talk a lot with our clients about honoring rest, and protecting family time. To make sure our team is showing up fully for you and for their own loved ones, none of our providers offer sessions or assessments after 4:00 PM. We understand this won't fit with everyone's schedule and can be a let down for some. We are more than happy to provide school and/or work notes to ease the stress of missing school and work.

Sustainable care starts with well-supported therapists. Thank you for supporting us in modeling healthy work-life integration!

πŸ“£ Coming soon: Two new psychoeducation series

Dr. Clark is excited to announce two upcoming educational programs launching this fall:

🧠 Understanding ADHD in Adult Women: A weekly class series exploring how ADHD actually shows up in women: late diagnosis, hormones, emotional intensity, the mental load, and practical strategies that work with your brain instead of against it.

πŸ‘¨β€πŸ‘©β€πŸ‘§ Parenting Neurodivergent Kids: A weekly series for parents raising kids with ADHD, autism, or other neurodevelopmental differences. Learn the "why" behind the behavior, strategies that actually fit ND kids, how to navigate schools, and how to take care of yourself along the way.

These are educational classes, not therapy - a place to learn, ask questions, and connect with others walking a similar path.

Details on dates, format, and registration coming soon. Want first access when registration opens? Join the interest list: https://forms.gle/2KtoStnbMBnu7ihA9

We talk a lot about red flags, but let’s give some credit to the green ones. ✨
Growth doesn’t always look like a massive breakthrough or a total life overhaul. Most of the time, it looks like these quiet, everyday shifts in how you treat yourself.
✨
Which one of these are you practicing today?Β

ADHD is one of the most misunderstood conditions we see. Swipe through to bust 4 of the most common myths, and share this with someone who needs to see it.

❌ MYTH: ADHD is just an excuse for laziness or bad parenting.
βœ… FACT: ADHD is a well-researched neurodevelopmental disorder backed by decades of brain imaging, genetic, and clinical studies. It affects how the brain regulates attention, impulse control, and executive function, and it has nothing to do with effort or how someone was raised.

❌ MYTH: ADHD is a childhood condition. Adults don't have it.
βœ… FACT: 60–70% of children with ADHD continue to experience symptoms into adulthood. Many adults are diagnosed for the first time later in life, often after a child's diagnosis prompts their own evaluation. ADHD doesn't disappear; it just looks different over time.

❌ MYTH: ADHD looks like a hyperactive little boy who can't sit still.
βœ… FACT: ADHD presents very differently across genders and ages. Girls and women are frequently underdiagnosed because their symptoms (e.g., inattention, disorganization, emotional dysregulation, daydreaming) don't match the stereotype. Missing the diagnosis means missing the support they deserve.

❌ MYTH: If you can focus during a video game, you don't have ADHD.
βœ… FACT: Many people with ADHD experience hyperfocus, the ability to intensely concentrate on high-stimulation, immediately rewarding activities for hours. The real issue is regulating attention, not a blanket inability to focus. That ability to lock in on a game doesn't disqualify anyone from having ADHD.

πŸ‚ EMDR Therapists!! Maria is excited to Announce Something New This Fall! πŸ‚

After summer vacations, family adventures, and all the fun that comes with this season, she’ll be launching a small monthly EMDR Certification Consultation Group this fall for therapists pursuing EMDRIA Certification.

As an EMDR Certified Therapist and EMDR Consultant-in-Training, she is passionate about helping clinicians deepen their confidence with case conceptualization, attachment-focused work, complex trauma, dissociation, and challenging EMDR cases.

This group is designed for clinicians who want more than just consultation hours. Her hope is to create a supportive space where therapists can strengthen their clinical skills, gain confidence with complex cases, and feel connected to other EMDR clinicians.

🌿 Monthly consultation group
🌿 $50 per group
🌿 Hours count toward EMDRIA Certification requirements
🌿 Personalized support and case consultation
🌿 Attachment-focused and complex trauma-
informed

Her goal is to help therapists move from:

πŸ’ "I'm not sure what to target next..."
to
πŸ’‘ Confident case conceptualization and a clearer roadmap for treatment.

Whether you're working toward certification, navigating attachment wounds, supporting clients with dissociation, or simply wanting a thoughtful consultation space, she’d love to support your growth.

🍁 The group will begin this fall.
✨ She is intentionally keeping this group small (3 participants max) to allow for deeper discussion, individualized feedback, meaningful connection, and plenty of time to focus on your cases.

πŸ“© Send her a message at [email protected] if you'd like more information or would like to reserve a spot!

Looking forward to growing alongside fellow EMDR clinicians.
