From Shaky Voice To Hollywood Fringe Festival!

A year ago, my client Noadiah struggled with confidence in his voice. There was hesitation, self-doubt, and a tendency to hold back.

Can anyone relate?

Instead of waiting to feel fearless, he kept showing up. He practiced. He stretched. He trusted the process.

And little by little, his authentic voice began to emerge.

Today, Noadiah is performing his one-man show at the Hollywood Fringe Festival. 🎭✨How cool is that?!

Not only is he telling his story on stage, he’s belting out a Disney song with confidence, heart, and unapologetic bravado. This makes my heart sing!

He recently shared this about his experience:

Title: Get Out of Your Head & Into the GROOVE

This talk is a glimpse into the evolution of my work over the past 25 years… distilled into one idea worth sharing.

It was a wild process — months of refining, editing, memorizing — and then stepping on stage to let go and be fully present with 700+ people.

Exhilarating. Vulnerable. Intense.

What I’m most proud of isn’t just the talk itself… it’s what happened after. After all the sleepless nights, the pressure, the build — I was able to let it be what it was.

No endless looping. No harsh self-critique.
I walked away feeling something I don’t always allow myself to feel:

Enough.

Just… a deep breath, a beautiful dinner with loved ones, and rest. For me, that was the real win.

As artists (and humans), things may never feel “finished”… but we can choose to feel complete. To trust that each expression is just one moment in the larger masterpiece of a life.

In a world that often feels chaotic and disconnected, I’ve come to believe we don’t need more pressure — we need connection. To ourselves. To each other. To something rhythmic, alive, and human.

That’s what GROOVE represents for me. Not just an idea… but a kind of medicine. A way back to connection — through movement, rhythm, and play.

The energy, the music, the costumes, the dance floor… all of it felt like we dropped into another dimension together.

TONIGHT! First Contact: Dark Synth Collective Makes Its World Debut at Pòlvora March 18th – Alien Benefit for Baja Pet Rescue - In 2006, a group of friends vanished while traveling the Baja coast. No trace. No explanation. Gone — almost as if abducted.

Twenty years later, they’ve returned — carrying the ancient language of rhythm and the universal law of groove, learned somewhere among the stars.

For one night only, the cosmic travelers return home. They’re coming to La Ventana. And they come in peace. On March 18th, Dark Synth Collective takes the stage at Pòlvora. Free admission. All ages. One night only. The dress code is intergalactic.

Led by veteran local musician Joel Rasmussen, with fellow travelers Vanessa Caruso and Alyssa DeCaro of beloved disco outfit FreaqOut!, and featuring Leif Rasmussen — what began as a father-son creative experiment grew into a community collaboration. The mission: how close can La Ventana get to a full-blown concert experience using only the talent already living here? Their synth-driven reimaginings of Tame Impala, Radiohead, MGMT, Charli XCX, Kate Bush, Billy Idol, Daft Punk, Phantogram, Kid Cudi, M83, and more demonstrate the answer!

And the night begins before the first note. Alyssa DeCaro — whose GROOVEment openings are a beloved FreaqOut! ritual — returns with an intergalactic twist. Alien GROOVEment asks the only questions that matter: Where are you from? How does your species move? Opening cosmic grooves from Jon McNeil.

A suggested donation at the door benefits Baja Pet Rescue, tireless advocates for the four-footed neighbors who share our corner of Baja.

The theme? An alien visitation. We are not alone. Come dressed to make interstellar visitors feel welcome — cosmic, otherworldly, galaxy-ready. First impressions matter for first contact.

Free admission — but the gates close at capacity. Get there early. La Ventana made this. Come celebrate it.

I did it. Last weekend I stepped onto the TEDx Sonoma stage and delivered my talk: Get Out of Your Head and Into the GROOVE.

After months of preparation, nerves, rehearsals, edits, coaching sessions, and refining every moment… it felt incredible to finally share it.

Doing any kind of immersive audience experience means I have to let go of control. It’s the only way to truly BE WITH the people on from of me.

Standing there and looking out at a sold-out house of 770 people moving and breathing together was something really special. Seeing the whole audience doing sparkle fingers, lassoing their vision from the sky into their center, and pumping it into the earth with me… was AWESOME.

I’m feeling deeply grateful for the entire experience.

Huge thanks to the entire TEDx Sonoma team for making it such a powerful and meaningful event. It was beautifully produced, and it was clear how much care, intention, and hard work went into creating it behind the scenes.

The other speakers were thoughtful, inspiring, and powerful. I feel truly honored to have shared the stage with them.

Thank you to everyone who came out to support me and share the moment — both those in the room and the many of you watching the livestream from all over the world - especially the livestream watch party of a whole crew of friends in Mexico cheering me on. All of your messages afterwards meant so much to me 🥹

A special shout-out to , who drove me around, kept me on time (even early!), helped keep me grounded, hosted an epic pre-game dance party 👯, and was such a huge support. for being my post-event slumber party, and to my girls and Amanda who flew from Hampshire and Montana to witness this milestone.
