Hey friends!

Learning to listen is an experience that changes people's lives.

It takes you into a state of relaxation and of being.

It's like getting the elevator to a secret floor.

You kind of knew it was there, but you hadn't been down there, and now you have. And now you know how to get there.

That's how it is to down-regulate your nervous system.
To learn how to attune with people and to help each other regulate.
And that is the contribution some of us are making right now.
In the craziness of our world.
And people need us.

What matters to you when all is said and done?

I've noticed that Stress and Worry can take up a lot of space.

They compete for attention
They really want to be right.
And they're extremely opinionated!

Maybe you can relate?

Space, beauty, reassurance, and calm are their quieter cousins.

Ever present.
They're always close at hand.
All you need to do is sit with them for a moment.

And slowly they begin their magic.

How do you know what you need?

Over the years, I've noticed that the better I understand myself, the better care I take of myself.

Perhaps you can relate?

It's a lifelong journey.

I mean, how do you know what you need if you aren't even asking the question?
And how do you know who will support you unless you lean in and let them?

Each of us has our own unique relationship with receiving support. So this month, I've recorded another Pause Here reflection for you. Two minutes among the Oakland redwoods.
