We are pleased to announce the appointment of Ashley Terneus as the organization's new Chief of Education! π
In this role, Ashley will lead our inpatient education program + oversee community education initiatives, including Safe Kids Oklahoma + Healthy Schools Oklahoma (HSOK), helping to expand educational opportunities for children + families across the state.
Ashley returns to Bethany Children's with more than 14 years of experience in special education, school administration, and educational leadership. After beginning her career at Bethany Children's as a special education teacher, she held leadership roles with Bethany Public Schools, where she championed inclusive education, built strong community partnerships, secured grant funding, and led the creation of an all-abilities playground honoring the legacy of a former Bethany Children's patient.
Dr. Reuben Bellows, Superintendent of Bethany Public Schools, shared his enthusiasm for Ashley's return to Bethany Children's, "Mrs. Terneus has been an amazing champion for students while at Bethany. While I am sad for Bethany Public Schools, I am equally excited for Bethany Children's Health Center and the leader they will be getting. Mrs. Terneus has a huge heart for helping and supporting children in need. Her passion was evident in the adaptive playground upgrades she coordinated at the Early Childhood Center. She builds strong connections with the people around her and brings them together to accomplish great things for kids. We look forward to working with her in her new role at such an amazing community partner."
