Summer time has been busy for everyone! We have had lots to do here at HHL with fundraising, fellowship and building our community. Still, we would like to acknowledge the last three months of staff shout outs as these ladies have worked extra hard through this busy time to ensure all are safe, accountable and supported.

These three are beautiful examples of women who embody our values with their strength in compassion, resilience and service. Their every day attitudes and personalities contribute to the supportive and healing environment we strive to create for everyone who walks through our doors. We are super grateful for the impact they make every day and are proud to recognize their efforts. Thank you for the way you show up for us all at the Healing Hearts Lodge!

Congratulations to Asa (May), Makalie (June), and Brandy (July)!

🌟 July Resident of the Month:
Brooke 🌟
If you’ve had the chance to spend any time with Brooke, you know exactly why she’s our July Resident of the Month. 💙

Since arriving at Healing Hearts Lodge, we’ve had the privilege of watching Brooke truly come out of her shell. We’ve had a front row seat to her recovery journey, her return to motherhood, and her growth into an incredible House Manager. It’s been inspiring to watch her confidence grow right alongside her commitment to building a better future for herself and her children.

Brooke is the kind of person who quietly steps up when someone needs help, brings a sense of calm when life gets chaotic, all while balancing her recovery and getting her kids to bed on time. Her gentle spirit, compassionate heart, and willingness to serve others have made a lasting impact on our house and everyone in it.

Her hard work, dedication, and genuine care for the women and children at Healing Hearts Lodge never go unnoticed. She reminds us that recovery isn’t just about changing your own life—it’s about becoming someone who helps change the lives of others, too.

Brooke, thank you for everything you do, for the example you set, and most of all, for simply being you. We are so proud of you and can’t wait to see where this journey continues to take you. ❤️

What a wonderful evening spent together at our monthly Family Alumni Night! ❤️

On the last Wednesday of every month, we welcome all alumni, current house members, family, and friends for an evening of hope, connection, and fellowship. Together, we hear an alumni speaker share their experience, celebrate sobriety milestones, and remind one another that recovery is something we never have to do alone.

A special thank you to our June speaker, Caroline S., our Assistant Supervisor at Healing Hearts Lodge, for sharing her story and inspiring us all.

We also had the privilege of celebrating two incredible milestones! Congratulations to Lauren and Brandy, on 2 years of sobriety! 🧁2️⃣🎉 Your dedication, leadership, and example continue to make a difference in the lives of the women we serve.

We are also proud to recognize Jaseyona as our Resident of the Month. ❤️ Keep up the amazing work—we’re so proud of you!

There is something truly special about coming together to celebrate recovery, support one another, and stay connected long after leaving the house. These evenings are a reminder that while addiction may impact families, recovery can, too.

If you’re a Healing Hearts Lodge alum, or a family member or friend of one, we’d love to have you join us at our next Family Alumni Night. We gather on the last Wednesday of every month at the Bismarck Veterans Memorial Public Library at 5:30pm. Coffee will be on and snacks available.
We hope to see you there! 💙

🎉One Year Sober!! 🎉
We would like to congratulate miss Harriet today as she has reached a huge milestone! 👏

The beginning of Harriet’s journey was a struggle. It’s hard to imagine someone so kind going through stays in jail, treatment, and sober homes. She finally found her foundation and built a beautiful life for herself & her family at healing hearts. For a while, there seemed to be one roadblock after another, sometimes she was the thing that was blocking herself from progressing; but she remained willing and cooperated every step of the way.
With her daughter eventually joining her, Harriet took on all the tasks of life with purpose and determination. She has grown into the woman she was always meant to be.

Congratulations today, Harriet. This is not a destination or a race, please stay plugged in as life continues to unfold for you. We are so proud of you! Happy one year!!! 👏 🎉 ❤️

Good morning & Happy FRIYAY! 🎉

It’s a special day of celebration as our behind-the-scenes Director of Chaos Coordination, Chelsea, celebrates SEVEN YEARS of sobriety today! 🥳

Chelsea has been guiding Healing Hearts for the last four years, and what a gift that has been. She showed up with God, some form of caffeine, and a willingness to take the necessary (and not always easy) actions to help both this program and the women in it grow.

She brings courage, wisdom, unwavering faith, and so much love to all of the women, babies, residents, and staff at the lodge.

Chelsea’s commitment to her personal recovery, spirituality, and service is felt throughout the entire program. We appreciate your leadership, dedication, and friendship Chels!

Here’s what Chelsea has to share

“On this morning seven years ago I woke up in a jail cell, completely fine with that because I knew I needed to be there, it’s where I belonged at that moment. I was out of control. Drugs and alcohol ran my life and I had no power against it, no matter how immensely I loved my children or how much anyone loved me. It did not compare to the grips of addiction I was held in so tightly.

Thankfully, the 12 step program loosened that grip and my Creator helps me be free of it completely so long as I do His work and strengthen my spiritual muscles! I’ve been given another chance to live a good and useful life. I’ve found a freedom I never knew existed that looks and sounds like peace of mind and a calm spirit no matter what life challenges and hardships come my way. If I could tell anyone who’s still struggling trying to find a way out it would be this…
You CAN recover! You do not have to keep living in pain and exhaustion. Aren’t you tired yet?? Let’s get to work.”

Happy 7 Years to you! We are so proud of you and grateful for all that you do. 💞

The April 2026 Staff Shout Out was awarded to Peer Support Denise.

Denise consistently presents a warm and welcoming demeanor at the lodge which makes her presence appreciated and valued in ways she doesn’t even realize! Her enthusiasm radiates to everyone around her. She is incredibly supportive of others in reaching their goals and is constantly thinking of ways to help the women, children and staff.

Thank you Denise. ♥️

🫶 Proof That Change Is Possible🫶

Today we are celebrating Brandy and an incredible accomplishment—2 years sober!

Brandy’s journey is a powerful reminder that recovery can transform lives in ways we never thought possible. When she first came through our doors, she was coming from a cycle of jail stays, treatment facilities, and years of chronic addiction.

What makes her story so inspiring is not just where she started, but the fact that she stayed. She committed to the process, gave herself time to heal, and slowly but surely began rebuilding a life she could be proud of and enjoy.

As the fog of addiction lifted, Brandy’s true personality began to shine. The woman we see today is dedicated, responsible, compassionate, and full of life. Through consistency and perseverance, she has continued taking the next right step, even when the journey wasn’t easy.

Over the last two years, Brandy has worn many hats. She recently became a graduate, a college student, a sister, an auntie, a friend, and a trusted peer leader. Today, she continues to serve others as a House Manager, using her experience and growth to help guide women who are walking the same path she once did.

One of the greatest gifts has been watching her smile, laugh, and truly enjoy life. The Brandy we see today is a stark contrast to the woman who first arrived, and that transformation has been nothing short of amazing.

Brandy, we are incredibly proud of you. Your determination, growth, and willingness to keep moving forward have inspired so many people around you. Two years is an amazing milestone, but we know this is only the beginning of all the good things still to come.

Congratulations on 2 years sober! We can’t wait to see where your journey takes you next. 💜

Brandy shared this with us: “Two years ago today, I took my life back. This journey has tested me in ways I never expected, but it has also shown me a strength I didn't know I had. & I am so incredibly grateful for GoodRoad and Healing Hearts for giving me the tools I need to continue strengthening my recovery. I have a huge support system, made life long friendships, gained a family of sisters and not to mention get to be an auntie to all the amazing babies here at the lodge. With all the peace, joy and blessings that fill my days, I am rich in life today and it’s all thanks to God! 💕”
