Yep… there’s a little more to making silky tallow than “melt it and whip it.”

Tallow contains different fatty acids, each with its own melting point. Get the temperature and cooling process wrong, and those fats can recrystallize unevenly—hello, grainy tallow. 👋🏼

The trick is knowing how to melt the tallow AND the oils together, how warm to take them, and how to control the cooling and blending process.

It’s a little science.
A little technique.
And honestly… a whole lot of paying attention. 😉

Same idea…different animal. And yes, we have a favorite. 😉

Bison tallow tends to be lighter and less greasy-feeling on the skin than traditional beef tallow, with a lovely silky finish.

Why? Bison fat has a somewhat different fatty-acid profile than beef fat, and our bison tallow is rendered specifically for skincare—not for the frying pan. 🤓

Bison tallow = rich, skin-loving, silky…without that heavy greasy feel.

The North American bison is feeling the shift.

The hottest days are still hanging around, but the prairie is changing—grass turning brown, wheat fields fading from green to gold, and that first little whisper of autumn showing up around the edges. 🌾

By late summer, the bison has shed its heavy winter coat and settled into a slower rhythm. Grazing, resting, finding a breeze… conserving energy for what comes next.

Because out here, the seasons don’t ask permission. They just turn.
