Molly’s walking like a pro on her right limb length prosthesis. We’ve been working with Molly since she was a baby and it’s so rewarding to see how well she walks years later.

Welcome, Touro University Occupational Therapy students! 👋

We were excited to host students from Touro University for a behind-the-scenes tour of Long Island Orthotics & Prosthetics. Their visit provided an inside look at how our team combines clinical expertise, advanced technology, and custom fabrication to create personalized orthotic and prosthetic solutions that help patients move with confidence.

We’re proud to support the next generation of healthcare professionals and share the important role orthotics and prosthetics play within the rehabilitation team.

Thank you for visiting Long Island Orthotics & Prosthetics! We’re always excited to educate, collaborate, and inspire future clinicians.

“Limits Exist Only To Be Challenged”

Meet our featured patient, Francis.
As a below-knee amputee, Francis pushes past boundaries in the gym, focusing on strength, balance, and overall conditioning with every session. Through determination, perseverance, and his unwavering commitment to progress, Francis continues to redefine what’s possible — one workout at a time.

At Long Island Orthotics & Prosthetics, we’re honored to be part of Francis’s journey. Helping our patients return to the activities they love — and achieve goals they once thought were out of reach — is why we do what we do.

Congratulations, Francis! Your hard work and dedication inspire us all.

We had an incredible time hosting an Ottobock clinical seminar at Long Island Orthotics & Prosthetics in Bohemia, NY, welcoming physical therapists and other rehabilitation professionals from hospitals and skilled nursing facilities across the region.

The seminar focused on optimizing outcomes for individuals with transfemoral (above-knee) amputations using microprocessor knee prostheses. Together, we explored postural assessment, gait analysis, and targeted therapeutic interventions that help maximize mobility, safety, and functional independence.

With more than 2,000 continuing education credits delivered, LIO&P remains committed to advancing clinical knowledge, supporting our rehabilitation partners, and ultimately improving outcomes for the patients we all serve.

Thank you to everyone who joined us – we look forward to seeing you at our next educational event!

The best view comes after the hardest climb 🌲🥾

Watch Jason confidently navigate this forest pathway; he demonstrates strength, balance, and determination. The foundation for his hard work is his precisely-fitted prosthesis. His limb is designed precisely for his functional needs and, just as importantly, for what he wants to do. With a properly fitting prosthesis, navigating challenging environments becomes achievable.

At Long Island Orthotics & Prosthetics, we partner with you to achieve meaningful mobility and support your journey every step of the way.

Better movement starts with the right step – and the right team by your side.

Check out John as he trials his new transfemoral prosthesis equipped with the Ottobock X4 microprocessor knee. John is an active guy, and he loves to walk on hilly paths in the forest near his home. The state-of-the-art X4 knee uses advanced force-sensing technology to help John keep his knee stable on uneven terrain, improving his control with the prosthesis. The X4 knee is part of a stable of microprocessor knees designed to give amputees greater functional mobility, whether out in the woods or doing everyday activities like shopping or visiting family.

Regaining mobility is a journey. At Long Island Orthotics & Prosthetics, we’re committed to supporting you every step of the way with expert care, advanced technology, and personalized solutions.
