Tough case? We have you covered! This case came to us after a few other labs couldn't quite nail it down. Patient needed a pontic involving maryland wings but presented with high translucency! We all know a standard PFM would have caused noticeable opacity. With limited occlusal clearance, metal was our only reliable option. In true Dutton fashion we got creative! Maintaining the desired translucency we fabricated a custom wing & loop style restoration that allowed us to build our porcelain around it for a more natural appearance. We hope the patient loves it!

We had some extra time for creativity this week! Design was inspired by a popular reel making its way around the internet. Our team member Mikah had a tight bite and the only ideal was a metal occlusal surface, with a little lesson from Ryan, the help of our CAD dept and our metal techs she waxed down this unique unilateral and we love how it came out! Dentistry doesn’t have to be basic 🦷
