Helping children understand big feelings today can help build safer, healthier relationships in the future!
Harbor House’s Little Spot of Emotions Workshop is a FREE, engaging program designed for children ages 0–8 to help build emotional awareness, self-expression, empathy, and healthy coping skills.
Using the beloved Little Spot book series by Diane Alber, each workshop includes interactive story time, hands-on learning activities, and age-appropriate conversations about emotions and relationships.
These workshops help children learn healthy ways to express emotions, build resilience, and ask for help when they need it — all while having fun in a supportive environment.
One of our community partners recently shared:
“The library loves how easy it is to work with the team for Little Spot. The books themselves are engaging and easy to follow along, we always have a good turnout when we do this program. The team is fun and gets down to the kids’ level and talks with them. They provide such fun crafts for the kids, and the crafts are different from what we do so it provides a new activity for my regulars. These books and programs help the children learn to express and how to handle their emotions on their own or how to ask for help. I think the programs also help parents too. We are so thankful to have great programs like this!”
