🌟 Staff Spotlight: Maureen Boardman, DNP, FNP-C, FAANP

We're proud to celebrate Maureen Boardman, Little Rivers Health Care's Director of Clinical Quality and Research, whose work on HPV vaccination in rural communities was recently featured by the St. Jude HPV Cancer Prevention Program!

In her article "Closing the HPV Vaccination Gap One Visit at a Time," Maureen shares why HPV vaccination remains one of the most underused tools we have for cancer prevention, especially in rural areas like ours, and how a simple shift in how providers talk about the vaccine, called the Announcement Approach, can make a real difference.

With over 20 years of HPV research experience and 21 years at Little Rivers, Maureen has trained more than 125 future rural health providers, served as a national panelist for the St. Jude HPV Cancer Prevention Program, and recently completed her DNP at the University of New Hampshire.

Thank you, Maureen, for your dedication to keeping our rural communities healthy!

Now hiring a Pharmacist Manager in Wells River, VT.

https://1l.ink/VPBCVBM

This is an opportunity to lead our new pharmacy, help to shape it from the ground up, and actually know the patients you're serving.

Little Rivers Health Care is opening a brand-new in-house pharmacy at our Whitney Rowe Clinic in Wells River, and we're looking for the right pharmacist to run it. You won't just fill prescriptions here. You'll counsel patients, coordinate with providers, and help close the gap that keeps too many rural Vermonters from getting the medications they need.

Why pharmacists are choosing LRHC:
βœ… Lead your own pharmacy from launch, not step into someone else's system
βœ… Real relationships with patients and providers, not a revolving door
βœ… Backed by Alchemy Health's pharmacy infrastructure and 340B expertise, so you're supported, not on your own
βœ… Meaningful work in an underserved community that genuinely needs you
βœ… Medical, dental, and vision insurance, plus 401(k)

What we're looking for:
A licensed Vermont pharmacist (RPh or PharmD) ready to lead, with strong people skills and a passion for patient-centered care. Prior PIC experience, EMR familiarity, or bilingual Spanish skills are a plus but not required.

If you've ever wanted to build a pharmacy your way, this is that opportunity.

Big news from Little Rivers Health Care: we've earned three national quality badges from HRSA! πŸ…

This year, LRHC was recognized as a 2026 National Quality Leader for Cancer Screening, a Health Center Quality Leader (Bronze), and an Advancing HIT for Quality awardee, honors given to only a fraction of health centers nationwide.

These badges reflect a full year of data and the daily work of our clinical, IT, and front desk teams across Bradford, East Corinth, Newbury, and Wells River. Read more about what it took to earn them: https://www.littlerivers.org/resources

πŸŽ‰ WE MET THE MATCH! πŸŽ‰

We are overjoyed to share that our June match campaign has reached its goal and we couldn't have done it without some truly extraordinary partners and neighbors.

A heartfelt THANK YOU to Housewright Construction for being the ones to bring us across the finish line. Housewright has been a steadfast partner throughout our capital campaign, and their generous gift helped us meet the Arthur L. and Francis P. Hyde Family Foundation's $20,000 matching challenge. Every dollar our community gave was doubled and Housewright made sure it counted.

To every donor, neighbor, and friend who gave along the way: YOU did this. Each and every contribution brought us closer to a goal years in the making.

The LRHC Capital Campaign; The People You Know, The Care You Trust has transformed how care is delivered across our region:

Bradford Clinic β€” significant renovations that modernized access and essential medical equipment
Whitney Rowe Clinic in Wells River β€” expanded and updated with ADA-compliant exam rooms
Wells River Health Access Clinic β€” a complete restoration of the former Jiffy Mart at 55 Main Street, that will be home to dental care, an in-house pharmacy, and Food Farmacy

This campaign is a testament to what happens when a community shows up for itself. We are grateful beyond words. πŸ’™
